Amazing story game! The game design is interpreted really well! The “wake up” scenes really made the game more interesting to play, considering the narrative part made the entire storyline amazing to read. Excellent job!

Omg the either wakeup or wakeup outro piano piece is incredible. What a creative game. I like the polished game design.

Spoilers: I said out loud after the pillow "is this a game about paying attention..?" aaand then I was immediately proven right.

A game thats a bit more on the dark and story side than a lot of the games. A very cool project.

Incredible story driven game, gameplay suffers a bit but its still very interesting and creative, reminds me of You Have One Chance, very good!

Such a lovely narrative game with insanely good music!!! Did you make it yourself? If yes then you are truly so talented! I love the open and sad ending sm

Developer

yeah, I actually played and recorded all the music, so that means a lot!

Nice to see narrative games in a game jam ^^

As prev comment says, the story feels a little on the generic side given the glimpses of memories you are told, and the one critique I'd bring is that it isn't immediately obvious what some of the items are when you pick them up, but otherwise good effort - the music is the highlight for me :)

Narrative game so good I googled "Anamnesis". Also I think you should maybe not have jumping off your balcony as a go-to for waking up. That seems unhealthy.

I'm usually not too excited for narrative jam games, but this one was pretty good! Having the actual "game" be kept a secret in the screenshots & description added to the theme of attempting to recall memories of one's self, mainly cause I wasn't working too hard to commit each area to my own memory. It makes the game more about hastily recalling things you only half-remember, while using the context clues to help jog what memory you have - which is probably what you were going for.

The only main weakness, I think, is that each area feels a little generic. I don't really get much of a unique idea of who this character is from just a few locations they've been in, and the items I'm moving around seem more tailored to the gameplay loop than the story (Like, I see a syringe, so I know it has to go to the hospital). I think if there were more ways to learn about the character's life, I'd be a little more hooked on the story than I already was (For example, one of the objects being a family photo or wedding ring could indicate the character's relationship, or if they had to be placed in a drawer rather than the bedside table, it might say something about that relationship. Sorry if I'm armchair designing a bit).

Regardless, I think the story being written here is still good as-is, and the gameplay integrates nicely into it. That last line of dialogue also hit pretty hard, damn.

tysmmm!I am really glad you liked it, I do agree abut the items.. that could certainly elevate the story. Also, ofc I couldnt make a whole game without a typo, so ofc it had to be in the very last line -_-, but regardless, thank you for the support!!

Sweet art and the piano is incredible, really fit the feel and narrative at every point

Good story and a nice tie to the theme, i loved the introduction of the game. Overall a fantastic game !

The gameplay was fairly simple, but the storytelling, music, art and everything else really amde up for it. A lovely little game that felt so complete for such a short game jam!

10/10, Quite an interesting little game! The music, Gameplay and Narrative were my favourite parts!

The narrative and the artwork categories are definitely 5 stars here! I really wish I could give 5 stars for audio too because the soundtrack was great, but it just got too repetitive over time.  I wish I was that good at the piano though! XD

the story and the mechanics is nice and very good. however it might be confusing at first (umm maybe player might quit soon idk)

but, the game truly have a feeling, brings me nervous

nice work!

I really like that you played the piano for these piece, it was really well composed and fit the narrative well.

The slow introduction to the games mechanics were also laid out really well. I think the character could move a little faster, shift increasing heart rate is a cool mechanic IF the normal move speed wasnt so slow. Also being able to handle multiple items (maybe even just 2) would have been nice as well so I could stage items. There was a lot of back and fourth.

Narratively, I always love a coma game lol. I enjoyed exploring the spaces, then reordering them to be proper. Overall great job! Maybe to help tie it closer to the cooldown, the player could read a note thats like "DNR, pull plug at X", which is a clear reason for the timer.

I remember Hypnagogia! I knew something felt familiar!

Such a great narrative experience, in a Jam it's so hard to grab the player enough in the first instance to keep them invested but you've just nailed it with the intro so well, immediate questions asked of the player that are great to tug at. The puzzle element of reordering memories was thoughtfully done and the fact I have a scary countdown AND can't overdo the running gives a delicious tension to the gameplay.

Kudos on the piano-work too, absolutely sublime soundtrack!!

Excellent piece.
