How does your game fit the theme?
Multiple gameplay mechanics involve doing things in descending order, mostly counting down, but sometimes counting up. The clock mostly counts down. There are also some additional little details that refer to the countdown theme, no spoilers! There are 16 WAVES, and some surprises along the way. Go for the high score!

Fun concept and a nice take on asteroids! It took me a while to get used to the controls (I suffer from a massive skill issue) but after that it was pretty fun. Also like that the countdown theme was interpreted in multiple ways. Cool project!
Thanks so much! I do think it suffers a little from “game developer makes their own game a bit too hard” 😅
Love the vibe ! couldnt get used to the controll but that's a me problem, couldve add some tutorial though
Thanks! There is tutorial/toast text for each new element added to the game: rocks, gates, directional gates, and spinning gates. It’s minimal, but tells you all you need to know.
I don't really understand how it fits the theme apart just having a timer in it.
As mentioned in “How does your game fit the theme?”: multiple gameplay mechanics involve doing things in descending order, ie. counting down.
I’ll list some of them:
And as you say the timer counts down.
If I had to summarise it, the game is a battle against the count down.
Nice vector visuals! I wasnt sure what to do in the empty (black hole?) section, bur gravity eventually took its course.
Thanks! One of my favourite things to do is to maximise the points by getting into the black hole as fast as possible, feels so good when you line it up on the last gate and can just boost right into the hole
Fun take on Asteroids :) Enjoy the... surprises, hehe
Thank you! Comments like this make it all the effort worthwhile.
Cool game! I really liked the fluid control, and the simple, but unified atmosphere. Just a personal opinion, but I really prefer aswd control, so maybe might be nice to have both?
Anyhow, great work!
Thanks! I’ll be sure add ASWD controls duplication on my todo list.
I added ASWD controls for you in today’s update
Came back to play again with the WASD control, and yes, I found it much easier to play!
Really enjoyed playing once again, thank you!
Very fun, the theme fits naturally as an addition to asteroids. It's just a little frustrating when you orbit around the level's end without reaching the center, but besides that I really enjoyed it
Thanks! The trick is to angle towards the opposite edge of the black hole and thrust, then you can go straight in. If you do this as soon as the black hole appears you can dash straight into it. Takes a bit of skill, but very satisfying when you can nail it every time.
Very cool visuals you've got. Sometimes music makes me sad, but I guess that's the point. Nice job!
Thank you. It’s lonely on your own out there in space! So I picked some chords that can be melancholy at times.
But, there’s a way to add to the music and even play an uplifting jingle once per wave! Did you figure it out?
Very nice aesthetic, fits especially well for an Asteroids clone! I also really enjoy the level transitions. It tickles my brain in a good way.
Great to hear! That’s exactly the feeling I was going for. Thanks for playing. Spread the word!
Nice take on Asteroids. Very satisfying movement!
Thanks! It’s as much racing game as it is Asteroids, I tried to blend the two.
Cool setup. I like that it is in a old tv. Good job.
Thanks! The CRT shader really makes those vectors pop!
Nice work, you can really build up some momentum.
Cheers! There is actually a limit :) otherwise things go crazy
