Such beautiful watercolour painting
Thank you ^-^
Really loved the watercolor art in this one! Learning that you hand painted them all makes it even more special. The way you layered in the different music as you're moving through the story was jarring... but it works and fit with the dissonant vibes of the game. Really nice work!
Thank you very much for the feedback! Just before the end of the count down I guess :)
Great work, clearly a lot of thought and effort was put into this. The art really added to the story.
Thank you for playing!
I imagine a full point & click out of this and I'd love to play it. It's also nice as is. Maybe the music felt a bit uncoordinated when adding up (I played web version, maybe it's related), and the texture behind the texts could be softer to make them easier to read.
Yes, it's kinda sad, but it makes these feelings acknowledged, which feels good at the same time.
Thank you for playing! I am happy to hear that.
Also, thanks for the feedback! Actually, the music depends on the choices you make, and I didn't have the time to check all of them unfortunately, so I can fully understand that. It is written in 7/4 too, so already kind of unconventional I guess.
With regards to the texture behind the texts, there actually is an option which makes the text backgrounds mostly white ("high contrast"). I don't know whether this already solves the problem?
Maybe I'll do a bigger one afterwards. I think that's a nice idea. :)
Oh thanks for telling me, I just tried it and that totally solves it! Though maybe an option in between would be a nice addition too :)
Also, it's so cool that the music depends on the choices! If you want to keep working on it, I can try it a few more times after the jam to give you more testing feedback?
Hi, thanks for the offer! If you want to, you certainly can! I would be interested in the combinations which you find don't match well. :) But of course don't feel pressured to do it. I'll definitely refine it a bit more after the jam, but now I don't think I will make a much bigger game out of this one. Instead I will probably write another text adventure with the lessons I've learned from this first one. :)
I loved the watercolor artstyle, it's sad but more real than we imagine. The music was also great and I loved how it slowly progressed with the story. Good work!
Thank you for playing and the feedback!
a beautiful bummer of a game! the art style is really nice to look at, did you waterpaint the images and then scan them in? thank you for submitting this, it's really well done <3
Thank you ^^ Yes, I used watercolors on watercolor paper, and then photographed them. This way you can see the texture of the paper pretty well.
Feels more like a sad, nostalgic storybook than a game.
That's not a complaint, that's a compliment.
Thank you for playing! That was one thing I was going for. :)
Nice art and atmosphere. It felt like reading a beautiful storybook!
I liked the realization of the helplessness of humanity in the face of environmental catastrophes. I hope our golden days last for a long time.
Thank you for playing the game and your feedback!
I also would disagree with you there a bit. I don't think humanity is helpless, just a person alone is.
Yeah, I should have pointed that 'alone' part out, but somehow I didn't (cuz my English is bad). What I meant was more like a human itself rather than humanity. We are weak and as we know that, we can come together.
Honestly, narrative games like this that have such a story that can impact people are some of my favourite games. The narrative in this game is exceptional, not just in the story that it tells but also how you tell it, the detail in the pictures, the build up of the music and the subtle countdown are all ways you've used the advantages of game storytelling to make something really unique. One of the best submissions I've played so far!
Thank you so much. I wasn't sure whether this fits a game jam at all, and I am very happy that so many people played and listened to it. Thank you!
Wow, beautiful message and beautiful artwork. I wish there were maybe some additional choices/options because I enjoyed the interaction. And I liked that you included the high contrast setting- it was very helpful for me. Great job!
Thank you for playing and for the review! I'm happy that the option helped you :)
Very very pretty game and love how the music bulds up but would've loved more choices , but that's just me wanting more!
Thank you! ^^ Maybe I'll add some after the jam.
Absolutely love your watercolor! And the theming is great! Thank you for this game, loved it!
Thank you for the review and for playing! ^^
Love the art style, this game does such an excellent job at educating about events related to climate change. Clicking the question mark on the side gives tons of interesting info.
It pains me to see there are many famous people who openly deny climate change. Those who face the consequences know just how seriously the worlds needs to take this issue. I appreciate you for using the jam theme to spread awareness about this issue.
Thank you for the review! I hope my project could spread some of these information, as well as make people reflect their feelings about environmental catastrophes.
With regards to the deniers, I feel the same. However, I think that (at least in my home country, Germany) only a minority denies climate change. Unfortunately, politicians are more likely to do just that...
Very beautiful game in everything, art, narrative and audio!! Thank you so much for this !
Thank you for playing! ^^
This one felt different than the other games in the jam.
Well polished, great art, great audio. Playing it does make me pretty sad though.
Thank you for playing and the feedback. I do feel the same, actually. I was quite happy that I was able to finish it after these four days ...
Don't forget to talk about these things with people you are close with, or maybe consider joining some related groups. It really helps.
Anyway, wishing you well!
Such an important game with a powerful message... thank you for sharing! <3
How did you make those gorgeous art assets? Traditionally painted/scanned, or digital?
They look amazing. Great job! :)
Well, thank you for playing! :)
I used watercolors and a waterproof fineliner, and then just photographed it. I think it highlights the texture of the paper quite well. The only problem is that you have to time the photographs to be at day ... ^^"
Cool game, and the drawings are great. Super polished also
Thank you :)
This is great!! I love the art, and the story is told so well!
Thank you! :) I was actually a bit worried about the telling of the story, so I am happy to hear that!
what a devastating, beautiful art game. your writing is wonderful and feels so impactful paired with the visuals.
Thank you so much for playing and the feedback!
