Loved this game! The puzzles are creative and the step count mechanic is pretty novel. Also, you did a really good job with the atmosphere and choice of BGM; I'm sure you put a lot of consideration into it. Overall, excellent game!

Hi everyone!
I'm a developer, wanted to notify, that PC (Windows) version brings better experience and provide better graphics quality. In WebGL version you can face a problem with cube block on third level like "can't push" or "hard to push", so please, download PC (Windows) version: https://thesomethinggood.itch.io/ten-steps-down#:~:text=More%20information-,Download,-Download
Also, please look at and rate the game page, I tried my best.
Thank u for understanding! I appreciate you playing my project <3
It is a really creative idea! And the level designs are really thoughtful Im glad you you took time with that!
Feel free to check out mine!
I downloaded the executable version after reading in the comments that there was a bug in Level 3, and I was able to complete all the levels.
I like the liminal aesthetic (even though it’s so trendy these days thanks to Hollywood), you’ve created an atmosphere that invites calm contemplation, and that’s much appreciated.
I’d like to be able to experiment with more levels to see the full potential of the idea, but it’s definitely quite interesting.
Great job overall!
Lovely game and yeah I heard about what you have told and truly it brings two very different experience. Wonderful game buddy well done :)
Nice game dude, I just want more sfx since you already have a chilling BGM. example like the sound for number drop down, the sound when you restart the level,... It will make your game more responsive. The puzzle is good, well-designed platform. Good job mate, I like your game <3
Unfortunately, I don't own a PC, so can't play this game to its full potential. However, the concept is very clever, and I think it has a high potential for cool puzzles. If you end bug-fixing this or making a Mac build, I'd love to play some more!
Really fun puzzle game ! I love the concept. It's simple, but it allows for some really clever level design. Congrats !!
Very fun game and I love the take on the theme you did. Really nice puzzle game. Very well made within the time as well.
super fun take on the theme, great level design and art style ! i enjoyed this submission :)
I really liked the concept of solving each puzzle with a limited number of moves. It’s a simple mechanic that’s easy to understand and quick to get used to.
I managed to complete several levels, but I got stuck on one where I couldn’t figure out how to progress. I think it was pool-02. There seems to be a button, but I couldn’t work out how to activate it. I tried standing on it, and I also tried moving the nearby box, but it couldn’t be moved. The only other objects around were a few pillars quite far away from the box, so I wasn’t able to figure out the solution. It’s entirely possible that I just missed something, but up until that point I was really enjoying the puzzles.
I also liked the game’s atmosphere. It reminded me a bit of the Backrooms aesthetic, which gives it a really interesting feel.
Good job!
Yeah, sorry for the bad experience with the third level(
WebGL version have known bug like "can't push" or "hard to push" with the box.
I found that PC version TenStepsDown-1.0.3.zip on download section dont have such issue on somebody players.
Thank u for the feedback! I will try your game too <3
