I love chess so of course I would enjoy a chess themed game! I think I was just a bit confused on how the countdown theme was used but other than that, it was a pretty good and quick fun puzzle game :^D

Simple idea but paves way for some pretty juicy puzzles. Also the art/audio is so well done, its a joy to interact with.

awesome game, It was relatively easy once I figured out it is basically chess.
But since It is probably targeted to people who know chess. I want you to add simple visual distinction to the tiles by adding check pattern (although it might look slightly uglier idk). I dont mind not being able to change the moveset choice.

Our piece is the dragon rahh.

sidenote: I was also confused which piece was our piece at the very start

Really fun to play! Its design is simple but complex enough to make some clever level design. only complain is that the theme of the jam ist really shown in its full potential. Congrats!

All the levels in the level selector gets you to level 1 btw, at least once you beat the game.

I really appreciate the feedback! Thanks Pollo

Would have loved to be able to visualise moves when hovering on the choices or cancel what I’d clicked on because I’m a big “clicking everywhere while I think” type of player haha but that’s details, I really like the strategy behind it, and the music and graphics wraps it all up neatly!

Developer

I’m with you in that one. Tho most frustrating part of this game was not being able to unselect pieces lol

Thanks for the feedback!!

As someone who loves a daily chess puzzle, these were right up my alley. It was so cool how the pieces would gravitate towards defending each other! I think in the last level I got to a point where the two "rooks" just defended each other on loop until one of them made a mistake. Also the graphics and music were so cool!

Last level is an Jones Paim in the ass lmao Thanks for the feedback yo!

The pieces are surprisingly good at defending each other, that was probably not easy to code. Well done, I like the idea of the game :D

There is some room to improve the strategy depth and make it feel more like a puzzle to solve than just waiting for the enemies to make the wrong move.
But it's fun nonetheless and an interesting concept

Dang, you did a super job on this one. The graphics were great and the sound effects fit well into it. Unless I missed something, I wasn't sure from the start which pieces moved like which, but once I was able to identify the queen, bishop and knight patterns by toon then the game really opened up. It was also super satisfying getting forks on the enemies.

Really cool and polished visuals, too. Great job!

I like the idea, but was frustrated by how often it felt like you were just waiting for the enemies to choose to move somewhere you could attack.
