I love minesweeper, and this was minesweeper with PURPOSE! I will say that I found the shooting mechanic a biiit confusing at first, I tried to shoot the text of the killer, and admittedly I had the screen minimized, but I struggled to find some of the killers since their portraits were pretty similiar (probably just a be problem).

Super sweet entry!

I’ve never been one for minesweeper but the deduction part of it was definitely a fun twist. Took me a bit to understand the game properly, I thought I was supposed to flag the culprits and thought the gun was just part of the UI, I didn’t know I had to select it at first 😅

Very well done!

Really awesome twist on both a typical murder mystery and minesweeper! Took me a couple tries before I got it down (I was trying to play it like normal minesweeper at first before realizing I wanted to hit the "bombs"), but once I got it, solving the rounds and finding contradictions with testimonies in the turns I had was pretty fun.

I absolutely love this idea, feels like a mix between cluedo and minesweeper and I never would have imagined they'd go so well together! My pb is 44 seconds with 17 turns remaining.

Not sure whether its a just me problem but the music seems to go away after a while.

Would love to see more after the jam!

Lovely spin on Minesweeper with some detective elements. The music is really immersive, the art is gorgeous and the ui is very responsive and punchy. Shooting the gun is very satisfying as well. I think you've done a wonderful job, good game!

Absolutely great work, such a nice game to play with, great idea combining mine sweeper and deduction game, really love the game play, and the take on the theme is nice, the music really bring me into this, and love literally everything of this game, made me play multiple times of this game,  tysm for presenting this!

Really enjoyed the combination of Clue and Minesweeper. Music broke (just stopped playing) after my first run.

Fun mix of minesweeper and murder mystery. I enjoyed it and played several rounds.
In typical minesweeper fashion, I had one run that was a 50/50 (The Countess: said The Maid is lying).

This is one of the more unique concepts I’ve encountered. As a person who doesn’t really understand minesweeper, I was still able to pick up on the basics by playing this game. Honestly, my favorite part was picking up the gun and using it to shoot at the tile. It was a fun and creative way of picking a murderer, rather than just pressing a button.

My suggestion would be to go further with the minesweeper concept. So maybe on a harder difficulty, there are not just murderers but hitmen who are tasked with eliminating the player. They would be like bombs from minesweeper.

Great work!

Thank you for the feedback! I am glad you like it. Someone or something that you don't want to reveal is a really neat idea!

Oooh, this was great, possibly my favourite game of the jam so far! Combining minesweeper with a deduction game is definitely something I haven't seem before. Awesome job! Might just return to this from time to time to give it another play.

This is a super fun just press start and play game, Great Job! It would be cool when you hover over someone it would tell you their title, as it was kind of hard to read sometimes, but other than that no complaints.

Really clever! Remind me a lot of Dupery, if you haven't played it check it out. Great mashup of genres. This one is definitely on my list of games to come back to after the jam.

Thank you for the feedback! I definitely gotta check Dupery out!

That was pretty damn great!
I don't want to stop playing.
:)

Just a few things from me:
1) the music cut out pretty quickly and didn't come back - but I still had sfx;
2) in my first run, I killed the 2nd killer, and no more suspects were flipped over, so I figured I'd found them all - then I determined everyone was telling the truth except the maid ("I didn't kill the count!" only verifiable by process of elimination) - I think there might be a bug somewhere, either in suspect not being flipped, or 1 too few liars or something; which leads me to
3) I would really really like it if you get the whole puzzle revealed when you fail (similar to minesweeper) so you can see what mistakes you made (and if there are any bugs... <_<).

Very good work.
Favourited. Followed.
See you next time!

Fantastic! Great art, great gameplay. This could go on Stream right away as is!

Such an unique twist to the minesweeper and a murder mystery game! The art style is really great, and the gameplay is really fresh. Unfortunately the music doesn't loop though, the game would be really nice to play with the music on. Overall, i had a blast playing this game. Well done!

Super creative and surprisingly well polished! Great work!

I love minesweeper and I love all the ridiculous twists people put on it. This game was right up my ally and it did not disappoint. I was a little confused my first few attempts because I was just playing regular minesweeper, but once I figured out how to use my turns sparingly and how the suspect system worked I had sooo much fun.

That's such an original mix between Cluedo and Minesweeper, I really like the concept and had a lot of fun playing your game. 5 stars. Great work! 😄

I really have a soft spot for logic grids / deduction puzzles. This is very well designed and I was noticing more things as I played, the highlights when you hover over clues etc. It is a very nice touch. It took me couple tries before solving my first murder mystery here, but I blame that mostly on the fact that I had to google "minesweeper rules", lol.
At first I was a little lost until finding the "?"up in the top corner so I saw the tutorial and could begin playing. I also scrolled down to comments and only then I got it that the gun is interactable, also I think the music stops after one play?

That being said, I honestly say that I enjoyed the game very much and I am probably a part of target audience for a more fleshed out and even more polished version. (If there is already a game like that out there that you took inspiration from, let me know :D)

Developer

Thank you so much for the feedback. I did notice the non-looping music after the jam but it was too late to fix. And there's a lot of polishing to be done that I wasn't able to implement during the jam, a better tutorial being one.

As for inspiration of the game, do check out Demon Bluff on steam which is a single player social deduction game. It is releasing later this year but there is a demo that is already very fun to play.

Added the demo to my library, will play it after rating period ^^

Thanks!

This is really, really clever! I played it like 5 times just for fun! I love how the availability of information you get is determined by your minesweeping skill, which was really cool! I was always able to figure it out, by being economical with my tile choices, but I can see how people who haven't played as much minesweeper could get stuck without all the info. I think a cool addition would be different difficulty modes that give you different number of tiles to use, so that people with more/less minesweeping skill can have a good challenge

Thank you for the feedback and I am glad you liked the game. A better tutorial is definitely on my to-do list especially for players who are unfamiliar with minesweeper rules.
