THIS IS OVERALL THE BEST SUBMISSION IVE EVER RATED ⊙.☉!
I can't stop playing, the best score I can get is $5M. This game is amazing!

Fantastic job! I was hooked immediately. Gameplay mechanics, sound design, art, theme were all excellent. Well done!

This is a very very fun game, im a sucker for packing games and this one is also an incremental game. I like what youve done giving every type of object its own effects and synergies, i could definitely see a lot of variety in how those work.
I do have two main criticisms, which are that while the upgrade costs scale seem to double each time you buy it, their effects are more than exponential ,leading to the game giving you far more money than you could ever need. I also feel like the game needs a fail state of some kind, like a balatro-style "you need at least this much money to keep going" type thing, for example.

Also as an aside itd be nice if the speed of the calculations kept going faster and faster, you can currently get into loops that last minutes which gets a little annoying.

Im very impressed by the variety of upgrades in the game so far though, the sound effects are also very satisfying.

Thanks for the feedback!

Uuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhh, I think I might've overpacked my bag with holes a lil too much.

Developer

Haha, that's more 'hole' than bag at this point!

Okay dear devs, just so you know : I've played 3 "rounds" of getting a bottle inside my bag and buying an extension, and I'm already fan of this game. I've downloaded it, since I'll play it for sure right after eating and maybe this night, and maybe even after... I'm going to have a geat amazing game of this, because feedbacks are sooo juicy and satisfying! Great art, amazing gamefeel, love it ! First music I had was soo funny since I've used it in one of my games aha (just remember which one, I didn't uploaded it), loved it ! I didn't really got a good game of it now (since i'm going to eat), but I think it do deserve to be a whole game? Would love to be updated on anything you'll do to continue (pleaase) this game!

Developer

Thank you very much for the kind words!

Super fun concept! I like the idea of having to optimize inventory space! The concept is really fun and I think there's a lot of potential and the upgrades stacking I love too. I think some more balancing needs to be made in the game! The upgrades get out of control really quickly and I reach the cap in like 5-10 minutes of playtime when I wanted to play for longer!

I like the artstyle a lot as well! The score calculation is actually really satisfying to look at and the effects are there! Again a lot of polishing and I like the theme but some balancing needs to be done since it makes the game quite short! So much potential with this idea, good work!

Thank you!

Everything looks and feels great until towards the end things really start to ramp up. Gave up after waiting over 2h betwen rounds for the scoring to complete. Would be cool if this scoring could finish faster, maybe kind of like the score counter at the end of Super Smash TV.

At least it's good enough music to keep me around for over 2h watching numbers on a tent.

Thanks for playing!  We made the scoring speed ramp up a little bit at the start of scoring, but you're right, it looks like we needed to make it finish faster!  That's a lot of points!

This was incredibly enjoyable!  Both the big and little little touches made this delightful for me.  The concept itself is really fun, I don't think I've seen anything like it before personally.  The sounds and music and art are all wonderful and cohesive and made the vibe so chill.  The fact that I spammed speed hole buying before realizing I was going to get bigger items and that was in fact very bad for fitting things was really funny.  Not sure if this was intended but the way the UI menus in the shop got bigger as my bag expanded was also really funny, and the way the currency values scale made me laugh at how devalued this currency was becoming or how much I was getting scammed.

I would absolutely buy this on steam if fleshed out more, and I almost wonder if you could impose external requirements that make it interesting - maybe i'm sending characters on runs out into the wild so I actually want to send specific items in their bag, or maybe narrative reasons force me to carry specific things, etc.  What if I was going on a run through a roguelike map i.e. slay the spire?  Clearly was very inspired by your idea.  Extremely well done, one of my favorites of the jam!

Developer

Thank you, that's very kind!  Those are some neat suggestions!

No refunds for your speed holes, haha!  Thanks for playing!

I think that my bag is baggin all bags that bags the bag under eyes in the whole bag world ! 10/10 would bag bags again !

fun game, would be nice if there was more of a win con or something that ends your run. with the addition of the tent, the score goes very fast. I accidentally got to e18 due to the tend and maps at which point I just spammed all the option for quite a while before giving up. every square bar the outside ring were holes and so I could only fit 2 socks (which was a good idea to make the holes unable to be on the top or sides) however the game kind of just broke then as it tried to indefinite-ly multiply by 227 or something (i forget)/ just thought that was worth mentioning as it seems like score scaling can happen very quickly(at which point the countdown also becomes irrelevant as you have so much time) but bar the balancing issues, this feels like it could be a very promising game if you expanded it to a full release

Developer

Wow, thank you!  We were hoping to add a win con, but didn't have the time.  I appreciate the feedback!

Hmmmmmm, where should I put my tent....

We stayed away from making an incremental game because we thought there'd be a ton of them. This is only the  2nd game I've played so far so take this with a grain of salt but I feel like this is probably going to be one of the more interesting takes on the idea mostly because of the grid inventory system. I got to the point where every item was hitting the 64 bit integer limit lol.

What I liked: Incremental games really need good juice and yours fit the bill, it was exciting seeing the numbers go off. I really liked making a full game out of the grid inventory, I often find them kinda fiddly and annoying but making it the whole game made it interesting.
What I think could be improved: Obviously the scaling is a bit whacky but its a game jam so that's par the course. I'd kinda like to see it slowed down so that you could try different strategies (e.g. more socks or more water?). I did feel like the "another of item" upgrades were made kinda redundant because once you got enough the "to be packed" grid would fill up and you wouldn't get half of them. I might consider making it a "pile" where you have socks x5, waterx5, tentx1 etc. all as different buttons and you could drag from there.

I see you made this in Godot. How'd you do the fly-in-text animations? Just tweens?

Developer(+1)

Thank you!  If we had more time, those are two of the improvements I would have liked to prioritize.

Yes, we used tweens for a lot of our different effects!  For the text effects we generally tweened the alpha value of the modulation for fading in/out, the scale for a bit of "bounce", and the position or global_position for movement.

this works really well, lots of fun!

Fun game, rouge like elements fit in well. Early game felt a bit slow however

extremely addicting, i like it

I really liked the gameplay here! It reminded me of Don't Let It Starve and I really like that game :)

I also loved your custom Godot Splash screen btw. :D

Only thing I'd criticize would be that there was no real goal. But you game is incredibly polished in other aspects!

I think I noticed a bug where one of the options was a level cheaper than it should be, but that's so minimal that it did not impair my experience at all :)

Developer(+1)

Yeh, if I had a bit more time I think I would have made an ending/goal but 4 days for a game jam is wildly short 🫩

Thanks for playing! ^.^
