How does your game fit the theme?
The meters counts down as you dive into the ocean, there is a timer that counts down and you have a limited number of harpoons

One of the most fun games I've played from this jam, although the platforming  could be better

Very cool, I like it a lot

Good game!

Very addicting and very clever how upgrades carry over between runs, my best dive was -75 meters

such a cool take on the theme! you executed the core loop super well, and it's really impressive that you did it solo! good stuff

137 low score! Very fun game, though if i had to say one thing its that i think the rings with downward momentum makes the game worse altough it feels good when you hit them, it really sucks getting high up and not getting a new low score because you missed some rings. Really fun take on the theme, and played it for a while!

lol very goood concept i thought its just jumping... after i jumped in water :D love it! nice game !

A nice an intuitive game! My friend and I really liked how the game progressed and built on it's mechanics!

Really great game! I love mastering the level and combo-ing all the downward ring things that force you down! I also found the grappling hook to be quite finicky, maybe instead of checking if the player hit the target directly, you could use a raycast to check if there was contact between the player and the mouse pos? That might help smooth out the gameplay! And maybe in the future, a small UI thing could show what you actually claimed after a run! Like one time I beat my high score by enough to claim like 4 new upgrades, but I wasn't exactly sure what they were. Having some sorta prompt that tells you what you just claimed would be a nice touch! (Played it again and I see that you float back up to the surface which lets you see the upgrades which is nice, but I still think a prompt that shows what you claimed would be helpful!)

Overall, really nice game loop and really fun to master! Presentation is also great, especially the underwater assets! Congrats!

Thanks a lot :)

The Hook is actually a Raycast! But even so, its unnecessarily precise so i get why you think it isnt one.  And yeah seeing what you collect would be a great addition! Will definitely add that if I come back to this game

Solid game! It's nice to just have one level that you perfect over time. The movement felt a little hard to master, but I think that was probably necessary for a game like this. This def would've done numbers as a classic early 2010s mobile game.

This is a good game. The level design on this one is incredible. I also respect that the assets are your own. Well done

I love the idea that the purpose of going up is to actually go deeper down. Reminds me of old flash games where the point was to throw an object/animal as far as possible to the right. If there was more in the level and more in your abilities I'd be playing this all day. Good job!

why is it so simple yet so good image.png only suggestion would be, as other comments have said, add basically a coyote time for the hooks - single-tile platforms can be really hard to hit.

also is there anything below the anglerfish? i kinda wanna see it but i also always run out of hooks before i could navigate the really high one-block platforms

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing :)

Yeah i agree, the hooks towards the end are too frustrating withouth some input buffer/coyote time, I will keep that in mind next time.

And SPOILER!!! but ... no there is nothing after the anglerfish

Wow I'm normally not a fan of Platformers so the fact I spent 10 minutes playing this is a testament to how good it is!

Submitted(+1)

Ok spent more time than I expected on this game lol. Good job.

At the beginning I was looking for why I couldn't use the hook but it was a starting tutorialization on how to get +1 hooks, it clicked when it happened but I thought it was a bug first.

Controls and character sliding could use some finesse but it's very close to good.

I love this idea! This game has great art and execution!

if it has buffer imput it would be almost perfect for what it's trying to do, but i love it

A really fun speedrouting game with a great core loop. If there's one thing I wish is that there was a slowdown or hitstop while shooting the grappling hook so that I could better aim the reticle before actually firing.
