What an interesting game! I think the concept is interesting, and it is very well-made. The art really fits the theme, the ui is clear (although a bit small, especially the execute-symbol), and the topic important to think about. Thank you for making this!
love the newspaper and dossier visual style! the satirical writing and case files are super rich and detailed, it's rare to see a story-heavy idle game done this well in a jam. assigning agents to operations while listening to the chill music makes for such an immersive vibe. really hope you expand this into a full project!
Looks very polished, congrats on that! :)
The narrative is thoughtful.
Congrats on the entry, and good luck with the full version! :)
I liked the concept and the game! but is the execution bar supposed to be so slow ? or is there something else to do i didn't see ? also i like the artstyle and I will be waiting for the bar so i can "execute the count" xD
It's designed to be a desktop idler. So you would spend maybe a minute or 2 setting everything up, then check back after a few hours to see the results.
Ah that make sense
That character looks familiar lol
Great job, loved reading through the cases
At first I saw the disclaimer and thought, huh why the need to get ahead and call it satire. Then I saw the count lolll. Amazing artwork and narrative. Don't see as many rich narrative games like this. If you keep working on this, a minigame for sending the agent out to execute would be awesome. Satirically speaking of course.
I enjoyed the narrative and the satire of this game. It's a highly original idea and I love how it was implemented. The only minor criticisms are: the font is way too small on the missions unless you are in full screen mode (the newspaper font is fine tho) and also, it took me quite awhile to get the agent onto the mission, it can be a bit tricky the first time, once you get the hang of it it's OK. However, that did not take away from the game, I definitely enjoyed playing it. The art fitted the game really well. There was a ton of content plot and narrative-wise, I don't know how the devs managed to squash everything into 4 days, impressive work.
The whole game feels so smooth and the artwork is great. Can't believe you made this in 4 days! Awesome!
The presentation and music here are soooo good. That minimalist newspaper thing had me reading thru everything.
And the music was so chill. Awesome game <3
A very cool idea, if developed further I would suggest make it more interactable. I found the progress bar a bit too slow, as there was nothing else to do but wait.
The original idea is intended to be an idle game, so the less engagement the better.
I understand that this isn't a great genre for a game jam though.
bro the web version is unplayable like what should i do i am not able to assign anyone
What browser are you using?
very great stories, i was fully expect to have to investigate tho, haha.
great game nevertheless.
Ladies n Gentlemen. WE GOT EM. Lmao Great storyline. Completely satire of course.
Cool idea with a really creative visual technique of using the newspapers. Took me a second to figure out I had to click and drag the agents, but once I did, I had a fun time. Nice work!
The setting of being in newspapers is pretty sick but sadly I couldnt figure out what to do.
If you're interested in trying again, just click and drag the agents from the bottom of the screen into the square spots in the operations on the dossiers.
unfortunately, I wasn't able to get passed the second agent placement, it never rose from 0. Looking at the comments its just me. I will say I really liked the idea and it looks like it would be a lot of fun. i will come back to this to see if it works later.
Really cool idea, I liked the narrative behind and I think it also fits the thene well
Would love to play more of this game if you decided to expand it! My one complaint would be I think assigning an agent to some work could be made a bit smoother.
Might be too much for a jam format, but choice by omission would play beautiflly in this kind of game and fit a theme
I.e. a target that has not yet escaped and has a self filling bar for escaping and only execution specialist would be fast enough. Or you need to keep investigation at certain range: to little you gain nothing, too much and target gets suspicious
You really can make it a full a title with juggling agents as main mechanic which acts as a nice extra dopamine while reading the files
