How does your game fit the theme?
We tackled the 'countdown' theme by creating a race against the Mayan doomsday clock, where feeding the gods is the only way to delay the inevitable.

Very unique story and gameplay, good mechanics of managing resources, art style is good. Keep up the good work! Consider trying my game on your way if you want to

This game was stressful(in a fun way), managing all of the things kept the adrenaline high! This take on the theme was intresting by itself, but the game upped it a lot. :)

Developer

Haha, thank you! "Stressful in a fun way" is exactly what we were going for — we're really glad the adrenaline came through.

Managing everything at once was meant to keep you on your toes, and it's awesome to hear that you enjoyed the theme interpretation too.

Thanks so much for playing and for the encouraging words — they mean a lot to us!

Super stressful but fun! I'd love it if I could automatically send certain resources to buildings but I loved the panic of manually doing this too! Great stuff :)

Submitted(+2)

I like the game, I just think the time mechanic should be slightly better comunicated to the player. maybe it could show green text (+x) when you want to add resource so you know how much time you will get for it. Otherwise good job. :)

At first I thought it was very simple, but I was shocked by how fun it was.

It was a really fun management game!

Well done! :D

Really nice game

I don't know what to say other than this is basically perfect! ❤️ Great concept, great art, fun to play. Love the little details like the card physics when dragging. Love the narrative details like drought events. Music was stressful which builds atmosphere. Just great 😁

A fun management game with an interesting narrative inspired by the Maya. I especially liked the progression, resource management, and overall balance. The need to keep track of the characters and prepare for each new stage made the gameplay engaging.

I made a small mistake during my run and ended up failing the fourth stage with only a few seconds left. Because of that, my main suggestion would be to add checkpoints before each new time period. It would be helpful to choose between restarting from the latest stage or beginning the whole game again.

Replaying everything from the start after a late failure feels a little discouraging, especially since there is always a chance of failing again near the end. Aside from that, I found the game interesting and well balanced.

Thank you for the detailed and thoughtful feedback we really appreciate it!

We're glad you enjoyed the management mechanics, the progression, and the Mayan‑inspired narrative. It's wonderful to hear that keeping track of characters and preparing for new stages kept you engaged.

About your suggestion on checkpoints that's a very fair point. We actually discussed this during development, but due to the jam time constraints and our design focus on tension and risk, we opted for a single‑run structure where every decision carries weight. However, we completely understand that restarting from scratch after a late failure can feel punishing. If we continue working on the game post‑jam, adding stage‑based checkpoints (or a "restart from latest stage" option) is definitely something we'd consider.

Thanks again for playing and for taking the time to share your thoughts it's feedback like this that helps us grow!

This game is really addictive. At some point I just found myself dragging cards onto objects without even thinking about it. It was surprisingly satisfying. The sounds also help a lot. They make it really easy to get immersed in the game.

I ended up playing the whole thing in one go, trying to save those poor people from the end of the world xD

The only thing that confused me was the time rewards. It felt like putting simpler objects, like a tree, on the pyramid gave more time than the more advanced objects you unlock later. I expected it to be the opposite, so I wasn't sure if I missed something.

Other than that, I had a great time. This is the kind of game you can easily get hooked on for a while. Great job!

Developer

Thanks so much for playing! The time rewards are actually uniquely balanced for each stage, and you noticed this perfectly with the wood during the obsidian phase! Our thought process was that obsidian is super hard to get and starts with a very short timer. Wood, being a quick resource to gather, is meant to act as a lifeline to keep you barely afloat, maintaining that intense "almost losing" panic. Every item’s value shifts depending on the stage to maximize tension — a deliberate little trick, so to speak. Looks like our emotional rollercoaster worked exactly as intended! :D

Submitted(+1)

Dang that was intense. I can't say I've ever played a city builder with such a tight deadline. And that soundtrack had me on edge the whole way through. I got up to obsidian before I ran out of time. Really well done!

If I had to critique, I think a more visible or obvious marker for where each of my villagers are working would improve the quality of life immensely, since it can be easy to lose track of things later down the line. I would love to see unique animations of each "factory" or some other accompanying effect, just to give it that much more clarity.

Submitted(+3)

Thanks a good idea! Maybe if the head of the villager popped up on the ui. Like instead of [2/3], it showed [👦👦]

Submitted(+1)

I didn't really get it at the start but then I got into it and I nearly won but I couldn't make enough gold in time. Very cool game!

One of the best games i played on this game jam. The concept is simple but the game is very addictive

Developer

Thanks a lot! That really means the world to us. Glad the core gameplay loop kept you hooked!

Submitted(+2)

Really cool game! The audio work with an intensifying soundtrack as the end drew near made the stress work feel excellent! The animations were also very nice.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Building up the tension with the dynamic music was a lot of fun to implement. Really appreciate the kind words!

This has the bones of a nice fast-paced incremental game, but it felt very harsh, and I did not enjoy constantly having to manually drag cards to bring stockpiles to a place (I would prefer if I could set up automated supply chains, or if places would automatically suck up resources they need with a switch to disable this behaviour on a given building). I spent almost all my time dragging cards.

I satisfied the gods' craving for food (giving 10/10) while the timer was on 50. Then it counted down with no further demands until it got to about 9 seconds, at which point the gods demanded large amounts of three resources I didn't even have production for, and the timer continued ticking down from 9 seconds and I lost. I'm not sure if this is just an unlucky change-over but I feel like the timer needs to go up to a very large number whenever the gods make new demands, or it's just completely unfair.

Good vibe though. I like the increasing tension in the audio and the fireball coming.

Hello! It's a pity that the game caused you such negative emotions!

In fact, our task was not to load the player by making the game as difficult as possible, but to teach him to look through the chaos without following it. Thus, the game is balanced so that you can't just save extra resources and give them when you need to close the tower request right away, that's what the game punishes you for, in fact, everything is much easier, you gradually give resources to the tower, thereby doing many other things and just delay the timer gradually, and oops, everything started to turn out as simple as possible!

As a person who tested this game during his teamwork on it for 4 days, I can say that the game is balanced according to completely fair principles, even I, as a developer who has a cheat panel in Unity where I can give myself all the resources in maximum values, I will not be able to pass the game without having the right thinking on the allocation of resources and my time, this is the principle of the game, there is no injustice here, only the player's mistakes for which he is punished! 😟

Many people wrote to us that they lack a set of several cards in their hand, but they wrote to us about the automation of the process for the first time, I think in this case I am competent to answer on behalf of the team - no. This will lead to the maximum simplification of the process and an easier game in the consequence, therefore less memorable for the player.

Thank you for your fair and honest feedback, we appreciate it!

With love, the sound designer of the ChefGames team🙏

It's fun haha, I really enjoyed my playthrough. I made it to obsidian but it gets pretty difficult since I'm having to click and drag a bunch.

Maybe there could be an upgrade somewhere to speed up workers? That was my initial reaction

Really loved the soundtrack, and overall the theme was really cohesive. Thanks!

Developer

Thanks! The obsidian stage is definitely where it gets super hectic.  Thrilled that you liked the music and overall vibe.

super fun!

Developer

Thanks! Short and sweet. Glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted(+2)

Super fun and hectic! Took me a bit to understand how fast to do things but it was really nice when I got the rhythm of things

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yeah, the pacing is definitely hectic at first, but finding that rhythm and getting into the flow is the best part. Glad you enjoyed the chaos!

Submitted(+2)

This is neat! It is a bit hard to manage everything but once I realized what I was suppose to be doing it was fun!

Developer

Thanks for playing! It definitely takes a minute to get the hang of managing everything, but I'm really glad it clicked for you and you had fun!

Submitted(+2)

wowww lol this has stressed me out (in a good way)
I really enjoyed the gameplay, and the idea is very nice, as well as the theme!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! "Stressed out in a good way" is exactly the vibe we were going for! Really appreciate the kind words about the gameplay, the idea, and the theme!

I am a sucker for the Mesoamerican theming and I enjoyed the gameplay loop in general. There is a fair degree of strategy involved and speed also matters here. The way the music speed interacts with the countdown was a great way to let me know my game state without requiring me to look at the number itself while I was doing other things as well.

Too bad about the art assets having variable resolution because I see you had some cool drawings. :D

Developer

For this village you are McLovin 🫵😎

Thank you for your kind words, it's nice to see what you like, we tried very hard and are glad that people share our result, it turns out that we have a lot of like-minded people 🧐
