This was one of the most curious games I played in the GMTK 2026. I found the theme implementation to be a bit lacking, but the game itself was quite creative. You made a very interesting puzzle mechanic, one that boggled me every now and then (the penultimate level seemed super hard in comparison to the last one), and I definitely had to do some "reverse engineering" to find ways to solve some of the levels. The narrative was a nice addition, though I definitely missed having a defined conclusion in the end. The music and audio works great for the ambience, and the art is just perfect for what the game is. Congratulations on your submission, you managed to do a lot within the limited window we had, and I wish you good luck. Nice job! :)

Wow, this can actually be developed to a full game. The mechanic was really interesting, unique and fun. Maybe a little more explanation can be made for how resetting the palette or secondary/primary color interactions work. I had to look to the itch page to understand. Great work

It was pretty fun to play and the puzzles were really mind itching lol. Nice job!

Developer(+1)

thanks, yeah the puzzles were more time consuming to come up with than i would have thought. having to make them alongside accounting for the potential colors and directions they could face definitely was a lot to be mindful for.
thank you for playing and glad you found it a challenge.

The puzzles and presentation were good (if the former brain breaking on occasion). However, I feel the timer aspect actively detracts from the game.

Developer (1 edit)

the timer is a bit something i wanted to work more on actually, more so i wanted to mess with the idea that the ghost was bound to the place and whenever they tried to leave, something kept pulling them back, but given little time i couldn't figure out a way to do that more creatively without it feeling annoying. a weird balance.
but aside from that aspect, glad you found everything else about it enjoyable, thank you.

Great job! I believe this concept could be a full game. Color mechanic is wonderful!

Developer

i considered it, maybe adding more of a clear understanding of the color mechanic alongside the idea of a counter clockwise rotation or even something to flip the colors around.
but thank you for playing and finding it a fun concept.

Very cute little ghoul. Enjoyed the puzzles!

Developer

thank you, glad you enjoyed it.

Very original idea! I learned the first mechanics quite fast, but the introduction level for the secondary colors isn't really beginner friendly, it looks like it was made from a gamdev pov and not a player pov xd

I also suggest having a little icon that tells you if you can interact with an object, only learned about the mirror when pressing escape

Still enjoyed the game a lot :3

Developer

thank you, and yeah i didn't have time for others to playtest to see another pov. i do believe the lack of a clear tutorial is a bit on my end for sure and the visuals to indicate objects were lacking. still glad you were able to enjoy it despite those flaws, thank you.

Very cool and unique concept! I personally would have needed a bit more help, got stuck quite a bit on secondary colors, but that might just be me.
Cute story, artstyle and music, well done!

Developer

i'm learning a lot of people struggled with the secondary colors so it was something i should have explained a bit more, so you definitely aren't the only one that struggled. glad you enjoyed everything else though, thank you.

The color mechanic combined with the ghost passing through walls is absolutely brilliant! I wasn't sure about the mirrors at first, but the colorful arrows in the top-left corner helped me figure it out. I did get stuck on the later color-blending levels, though. Overall, it's a relaxing and fun little game. I really like it!

Developer

i should have made some of the rules a bit clearer, but given only the four days i'm still glad with what i came up with. also getting stuck later is fair, i had the feeling a good amount would (especially since i was considering a lot of different angles in terms of the rotation mechanic) that it felt a bit difficult to balance.

glad you enjoyed it though, and thanks for playing.

Such a sweet little puzzle game with a nice story i really like it, its relaxing and fun to solve how to get to certain rooms

Developer

i'm glad you found it relaxing, i know a few people that had... frustrations with a certain level, (lv 6 in particular).
either way thank you for playing and giving it a chance.

the ghost (Boo) and their sprites was me, just something simple and nice. thank you for playing and glad you found it enjoyable.

Very nice game, the color mechanics are very interesting. The character structure is also really well done. What a great idea :D

Developer

thank you, it was definitely fun messing with how to make the colors work as a mechanic. especially when deciding to have white only be the secondary colors (even though every color makes white in terms of light), i just decided to make it as just a unique mechanic.

Submitted(+1)

I really liked the idea!

Developer

thank you, the idea came to mind weirdly enough when i came across a bug before when first learning game dev stuff.

where it was like i was able to move through walls with WASD but the arrow keys had collision. so i messed with that idea and i turned it into this.

The concept is pretty unique, and the artwork is pretty! We did unfortunately get completely stuck on the level where white was first introduced. Introducing the mechanics with simpler puzzles would probably help, because relying on just the text description didn't really give the full picture. Would have loved to play the whole game otherwise.

Developer

fair, yeah i did want to do that over time, each level introduced a different mechanic but with the lack of in game tutorial and without the color palette as a reference guide on the top right it definitely did hinder in the controls and learning more stuff.

either way thanks for at least trying it out and sorry for making it too confusing.

play button dosent work :(

Developer

apologies, yeah i probably should have mentioned to play and start the controls are the space button and arrow keys on the main menu.

Adorable

Developer

thank you, always been a fan of cute styles so i'm glad it appealed to you.

Submitted(+1)

It's a really neat concept, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get anywhere once the secondary colours are introduced. It seems like the ghost doesn't change colour until the sprite itself moves instead of when the arrow key is pressed, so sometimes you'd be stuck on a wall that requires blue, and even though you're trying to go a direction that would change him to red or yellow, because the sprite doesn't change, it doesn't really convey that the player has done something incorrectly, and it feels a bit more like a bug.
I do think this is fun aside from that though, and I love that he can only go through walls, because who needs doors anyway =P

Developer

yeah i noticed that issue a bit too late, didn't have enough time for others to test it and when they got the chance to it was something i noticed. still glad you enjoyed it, and the door and wall thing came from a community quote that i recalled wrong, but it went something along the lines of "ghosts can't go through doors, it's not fire" and decided to make that as a fun little dumb mechanic.

Submitted(+1)

Very cool idea, though I quickly got lost at the primary-secondary colors and how those work.

Developer

thank you and that's fair, i originally wanted to include a color palette as well to show how each color goes into what but i just didn't have the time to implement it.
