Had a lot of fun playing it! The hot potato concept fits the theme really well. I loved the Buckshot Roulette vibe, expecially the intro, was great! I'm also a big fan of the character designs, they're hilarious.
The only thing I'd improve is making the turn flow a bit clearer and maybe avoiding having some minigames hidden behind the cards in your hand. Other than that, greally great job!

Developer

Thank you for the valuable feedback, we will definitely tune the flow when we keep working on it! :)

I'm really glad I found this hidden gem! Starting with the gameplay, I enjoyed it a lot, it reminded me of Exploding Kittens.

I honestly think this is one of the best intros I've seen so far during the jam.

Just one small suggestion: sometimes it was hard to tell when it was my turn. I don't think the camera angle and the red button alone are enough to communicate it clearly. A bit more UI feedback would make it much easier to follow.

I'd love to see this game polished even further, especially with some improvements to the art.

Seriously, great presentation overall, and congratulations!

P.S. The audio is phenomenal you can really tell a lot of care and effort went into it.

Developer

I'm so happy you liked the game/idea of it! I did put quite a lot of effort into the audio and it's so great to see it recognized too :D

Really fun! Reminds me of buckshot roulette a bit. Managed to beat it on firefox even while having the minigames broken for me. It's nice you can lean into the minigames or stick to trying to just pass and manipulate the bomb with the cards. Well designed and fun to play. Congratulations on the game!

Developer

We appreaciate you playing and thanks for the feedback! :)

You had me at potatoes haha :D

Such a fun little game. Enjoyed the gamble much.

Congrats! :)

Developer

it reminds me of like exploding kittens!!! would love to see a multiplayer on this

Developer

thank you so much! we will work on it :D

Developer

Yes, exploding kittens was part of the inspiration here :D

laying hot potato russian roulette with a bomb in a nightclub is honestly such a fun idea for a card game! dj semtex still headbanging on the floor even after getting knocked out completely got me lol. the lighting and audio set such a good vibe too! really hope you guys end up turning this into a multiplayer game!

for some reason this really reminded me of mike klubnika's "buckshot roulette". it really gives off that same vibe and honestly might even be better in terms of tension!

Developer

Thank you so much for the amazing feedback! DJ Semtex still vibing on the floor is probably the funniest thing that just happened accidentally during development, we just had to keep it. Exploding Kittens and Buckshot Roulette were part of the inspiration, well observed :) We are planning to make a multiplayer version, stay tuned!

this is a fun take on russian roulette, with a bomb and card game mechanics! its kind of like deadly uno

i dont really have any criticism, maybe a nitpick is that card animations could be a bit faster to be snappier? but im really stretching it here… i also dont know much about card game design to be honest

great game!!!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing and for the feedback :) We will probably keep working on this and we will keep the card snappiness in mind!

Very nice inscription type game ! Good job!

Very nice game :D

Thanks! :D

Impressive amount of content considering the time, well done!!

As feedback, I think the game could use some tuning in terms of pacing, it felt a bit slow at times. Lots of time between your turns

Developer

Thank you and you are rightm the cards and pacing details are pretty much an initial pass that we did. With more time, we would like to refine that in extended testing :)

Submitted(+3)

pretty fun would like to play a multiplayer version of this with friends

Developer

Thanks, we are planning to make a multiplayer version of this! :)

Dang that was the most fun I've had in the clurb! Did you use fmod for this?

Developer(+2)

I'm so glad to hear you had fun! Yes, I did use FMOD to implement the sounds & music, but we forgot to list that in the description.

Submitted

I'd like to know how you made it work well with WebGL. We had fmod effects that just didn't make it through in ours :(

Developer (3 edits)

Sad to hear that.

It's probably because of loading. You need to load all sound banks asynchronously manually in a scene before the main game like in this example on their official documentation. This is because in WebGL FMOD cannot do multithreading, which it uses to load the sounds every time they're first used. I hope this helps you in the future.

Submitted

We got the banks loading but it just ignored all our parameters

Developer

That's interesting, I haven't had that happen yet. Did it work in the editor or a desktop build?

Submitted

Yeah. Worked perfect on desktop and editor.

Strange. I wish I could help more, but it's hard to do so when it's not a project I have worked on.

Very cool game ! The presentation is polished, and the gameplay is really fun. Without reading itch page, it can be a little difficult to understand the mini games (maybe highlighting clickable objects could help), but sincerely this is everything I could found "inconvenient" in this game. Really, this game is very impressive for a 4 day jam. Good job !

Developer

Thank you Adrau! The minigames can definitely be a bit tricky to figure out without an explanation, highlighting is a great idea!

Submitted(+3)

What a great game! I think with a multiplayer mode this could be a blast to play with friends, or great for streamers, I can see a lot of potential here. Congrats guys!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! We are actually thinking about giving this game local/online multiplayer, we are excited for it too 🧨

Submitted(+3)

That's one of the coolest intros I've seen. Honestly, you guys are insane, you've been in every major jam?! Crazy work... Especially the versatility in genres.

I loved the lighting and the audio, and the card game itself was fun. I think it reminded me of either hitman or exploding kittens? Well, I won the game somehow by killing someone who had the bomb by reducing the timer, and the other two just failed their tasks. That was silly... I also liked how the headphones guy kept vibing even after being on the floor...

Despite card games usually being multiplayer, the fact that it worked this well for singleplayer was very interesting. Does each npc have their own behaviors? That would be cool!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much EvilGato, it really feels like we have been jamming alongside each other since Comfy Jam Summer! We appreciate your feedback a lot. The headphone guy (DJ Semtex) still moving just happened on the side and it was so funny that we kept it :D The NPCs behave differently in each round, but not differently from each other in the same round. That is a cool idea though, we could have NPCs prefer certain cards based on characteristics…

Hot potato meets Uno, very creative game and fun to play!

Thank you Xullien! :)
