Charming game. Fun experience. Funny little story! A couple of typos but who cares! For some reason, when I pressed my left-shift it didn't pick up but right shift did. I was worried this would make controls awkward but it didn't really matter, I beat the game and didn't struggle. Nice take on the theme and, yeah, cute game!
Thanks for the experience!
Really really cute game! It's short and sweet I enjoyed my time with it. I was initially confused at the start of the game since I thought you could press left shift to grab. Other than that cute game!
Really adorable but I wonder how the dragon will feel when she learns that it's just a scrambled egg after all that throw. Cool game and voicing!
How adorable!! I loved the cutscenes! The puzzles are pretty good too. My main comment here, which might differ from some other comments, is that the introductory/tutorial levels for certain mechanics are somewhat vestigial. It takes space from what could've been a more interesting level, or put in another way, a lot of 'em just kinda feel like padding to the game. Would've been cool to see the mechanics introduced in more interesting ways, kind of like how the ice egg is introduced by dropping from the ceiling! It introduces the ice egg, yes, but also subtly introduces eggs coming from the ceiling. Nevertheless the game is overall great. Congrats on submitting for the jam! I wish you the best.
100%, I really try to make games teach you by playing. But time restraints and...I know many people that play game jams don't put a bunch of effort into playing, so they might just get stuck and leave. So I wanted to make sure I gave instructions for harder things like throwing the eggs vertical lol. Thanks for the feedback.
Boy, do I feel you there with regards to the people not really playing the games :"D
Lovely artwork and story, I liked that the father was in a constant panic running around with the egg. Shame about hard mode not working wanted to see those levels too.
At first I thought this was just a platformer with a countdown, but the exploding eggs added some depth that was really needed and I think it has a lot of potential! One small nitpick I have is that the explosion sound was kind of loud for me personally. Otherwise great game!
Every puzzle lived up to the countdown. At first I was like, "Ok, platformer with a timer," but then I started throwing the eggs around and getting to the multi egg timer puzzles and I saw the vision come right through.
I wanted to give a special shout out to your natural and well-paced tutorial. Every level until the finish had me thinking about something new, and I never once felt overwhelmed by a new mechanic. Additionally, the play is well-tuned and I never felt like I missed a throw or an ice timing unfairly. That takes work.
I'd have like to have seen more , certainly. The gameplay felt like it was missing that one extra element that could bring in emergent behavior, or really make me think about the main countdown.
I'm always partial to this, but the champion's-run at the end was a super nice inclusion, and if you ever doubted it, I'm glad it's in there. Having a fun reward level to cap off your completion animation really leaves a smile on your face when you play it, and that's in no small part due to your wonderful storying and cutscenes.
Alright level 11 made me feel stupid but this is a cool little game
The story is so cute! (>⩊< )
Special congratulations on the animation! That doubling smear ₍₍⚞( ' v ')⚟⁾⁾ on the bird's legs during its running animation and the way the mouth snaps up every time he moves it really adds this panicked "Squawk! (0∆0)" feeling. Also of note is the nice overshoot during the baby dragon's sudden hatching ദ്ദി ˉ꒳ˉ ).
By the way, I read late that the hard mode was bugged, so when I spawned and lost on frame one I thought, "Well, they weren't kidding about it being hard" ˙𐃷˙)
Honestly, it's short, sweet, and it's all it needed to be :3 Congrats! :D
(P.S. The "Pick up egg" action seems to be only mapped to the right Shift key and not the more common left Shift key)
Hello Im the artist behind the game! thank u so much for ur kind word :D
I loved the sketchy art style and I really liked the running animation especially. The game felt pretty good, though I struggled a bit with the last ice egg level though that’s entirely on me 😂 Overall, well done on the game!
This game looks so cool, I really like the visual style. But there is something wrong web build (or my computer). I could not manage to pick up the egg, I PRESSED EVERY BUTTON ON MY KEYBOARD. Very unfortunate :(
You need to face the egg (be touching it with the bird) and press the RIGHT-SHIFT key. If you try again and it still doesn't work please let me know. You can skip the cutscenes by pressing spacebar.
That did it. I am glad I got to play it. Very fun gameplay!
Thanks for playing.
