What an amazing game! Managed to break the free workers button from buildings somehow in the web version, seemed to happen after shift click releasing workers carrying stuff. It didn't soft lock me though so I was able to play through the game. Nice idea of transporting the materials across, but still building on both sides! Loved the art style, and as I got more to pixel art myself during this jam, I just had to pause a couple of times to look at the scenery and study it a little bit! All in all a great little game! Very enjoyable and definitely worth playing it through. Now if I could just fine tune the build order to achieve the fastest launch..
Beautiful artwork, it's crazy how much work you were able to accomplish in such a short time! :0
The art looks great, and I think for such an ambitious concept you did a solid job on it. There's little things like not knowing I had to unassign workers from the mill to build the house but that's nothing a few tooltips can't fix. Good work!
This must be my favourite game of the jam, so i actually didnt like the countdown :D Such a cool visual and audio vibe. I think i had a bug where the sawmill would not mine the ore. I actually lost badly, but can see myself returning and trying to optimize that layout :D
Fantastic work, guys!
I really like the art style. The only thing I noticed was that the stone people didn't have a texture for carrying wood. But other than that, it is really polished.
You are right! I added it in the code on sunday afternoon, but then forgot to add the texture change with the 3 brown pixels too!
Cool that you noticed such a detail, then putting in all the other details was worth it! In the beginning we did not plan on them having different textures and animations at all :)
I definitely felt like I could have spent hours playing this! There's a high chance I'm just an idiot but I ran into problems at some point where my clicking and dragging just did not seem to be causing anything to happen anymore so that was really the only thing that dragged me away ๐ญ๐ญ Really nice style and fun gameplay!
Oh no! Couple of things that could have happened?
- No more free villagers, you would need to free them from other tasks with right click
- Target full: you can only transport resources until there are two stacks waiting to be processed. The rocket base needs workers for that
- Source empty: you can only send resources as somebody is making them
- Old fashioned bug: also very likely ๐
Thanks for trying it!
Art looks beautiful. Gameplay gets a bit boring after a while but that maybe because city builders arent really my thing. Great job in doing such a good looking and well polished game out in a short time!
This is such a cool idea and executed so well! I loved the visual style and the gameplay so much!
soo i got it at the 3rd try and i love it honestly you have to be so locked in to do it and it was so much fun. i would love it if you could also work on other planets with different resources after you finished the rocket :D maybe it would be cool if the rocket wouldnt launch out of the map and that the people kinda get happy and jump around when the rocket launches :D LOVE the game really.
So far this is the best game I've played on this gamejam! I liked everything! I think it would be cool to expand on the idea of different planet/ different resources to make the game even more complex, make unique ways of transporting some of them, etc. I really hope you will continue developing the idea :)
Funfact - TimiOcean and me, after we finished the Jam and ate a piece of Reward-Cake in the kitchen, were immediately speaking about what else could be added. Aliens/Monsters, Warriors to deffend the village. Islandhopper campagne. Characters maybe even. More complex Production-Lines. An island where you have a Vulcano in the center which is destroying parts of your city regularly ๐
Honestly there are so many options.. We'll see if this will be continued int he future. Make sure to check out Starchitect on TimiOceans page
Thank you so much! After this marathon of a gamejam your comment gave me happiness goosebumps!
Yeah, we were brainstorming what would happen if we made it into a full game. Definetely more unique islands and more unique transportations. Right now I am stuck on finishing my card game Starchitect, but who knows what happens afterwards :)
Really like the concept of building half a rocket by each civilization! Enjoy playing this game during the whole process :)
Narrative 5/5, Creativity 5/5 and Art 5/5. Good job. My best Rating so far ;)
Wow. I thoroughly enjoyed this game, much more than I would have expected at the start. It took me way too long to understand that you had to drag woon onto the smelters, so I wasted a few minutes, but I found it really charming at how the tiny people scrambled all over the place with these seemingly simple but deceptively complicated workflows. I enjoyed the moment of realization that I had to send resources between the islands a lot.
Hello! I want to share my impressions about your game. I am very interested in the city-building genre, and this game is really captivating. It is especially impressive that you were able to create such a project in just 4 days. This is a testament to your hard work. If you have the opportunity, I would love to hear your feedback on our work :
