How does your game fit the theme?
You have to dispose of a ticking timebomb!... by pushing it into ponds.

I used a Ilumisoft asset back for a few assets but most of this is mine and I can prove my work.

Loved this one, making the bomb not quite round made the physics feel very good and just not consistent enough to be entirely predictable. Great entry!

hahaha we had strikingly similar design choices for our game submissions !!! i loved the character design and the levels look great and very pretty, this is a fun submission!

Submitted

simple game, i liked it, the bomb sometimes gets trapped so it would be nice a mecanic like pull to prevent things like this

Submitted

cool idea and a really nice implementation of the theme, but the movement felt a bit out of place

there is almost no air control if you want to jump to set up for something, and you have almost no control over the speed you push the ball (like sprinting has basically no use since the player will get slowed by running into the bomb)

Submitted

Loved the game! Very cozy meet sisyphos vibe going on here (push the bomb reminded me of the boulder)

This game feels nice, i really liked that all assets made by u, really cool fox. You did a great job with level design, audio also has vibe and fit to this game.

You did a great job, good luck with this project <3

Thanks

Really fun concept with great potential for a neat puzzle game! However, the lack of control over the bomb gets pretty frustrating. Also would love the music accompanying me throwing the bombs into the lake, but I get it - shortage of time didn't let you focus on that.  The presentation is great, the vibe and art are super cute, and it's a very clever take on the theme

This was a fun concept and would make for a neat puzzle game, but I think it's a bit too frustrating how little control you have over the bomb. The lava level was especially unforgiving, and by the time I got to the final plank, the slight thickness of its collision box was stopping the bomb from rolling onto it and it rolled off to the side instead. I didn't get farther than that. But apart from that, the game's well presented, has a cute art style and vibe, and a fun take on the theme.

Developer

I beat hell once and said "good to go" but yeah. It needs fixing. I ran out of time for it

I feel like the level design is holding an otherwise simple game back. There’s no way for the player to control the rolling of the bomb beyond pushing it, but yet we need to somehow balance it across thin ledges? I think if you focused on larger obstacles for the player to deal with (holes, moving walls, stuff falling from the sky with a little shadow as a warning even), instead of forcing optimizing micro-movements, it would play much better. Otherwise it controls well, looks nice, and doesn’t have any larger issues. I hope to see you in the next jam :D

Hee-Ho. Very cute game, nice idea for countdown. Very nice main character

Nice and good looking game. I don't know if you intended it to be rage bait but you managed to rage bait me in quitting lol. Burt is really ineffective in diffusing bomb, if it were up to burt, we would all have died. Common burt, why push, just pick it up and throw it into the pond.

Also one suggestion, display bomb timer in UI as well.

Submitted

Frustrating and impossible but still awesome. Also, I like the main menu and the name

Developer

Oh it IS possible. I've finished all of them.... at least once.

Submitted

SUPER COOL! I liked how frustrating it was haha. I also kind of liked how it wasn't obvious when it would blow up! You should be happy with what you've built. I think you'd like our game too (rage inducing at times, also has a bomb).

Nice work! I like the art and I had fun helping Burt committing some environmental atrocities. I couldn’t get past the plank level, but I enjoyed the parts I could play. I think the only thing it really needs is a reset button just to make repositioning a little easier after a failed attempt

Developer

There is a reset in the pause menu.

Submitted

I was tired and I guess I missed the pause menu in the instructions. Sorry about that 😅

Developer

It's a problem with WebGL. The browser often eats the esc input. BUT if you put the pause menu anywhere else nobody will find it.

After the barb wire went up  I started getting the impression that Burt did not own the pond he was pushing those bombs into . I enjoyed the game, you did a good job of slowly ramping up the difficulty as the player got more use to the mechanics. The plank may have been a bit of a difficulty spike though.  I felt the bombs timer may have been a bit long because even when i messed up really badly I did not get close to it blowing up . Congrats on submitting!
(BTW for a more "environmentally friendly"  bomb deposal company try the one in my game)

Developer

I didn't make it clear that you can skip levels with the level selector. And the trick with the planks is to line it up and go for it.
