How does your game fit the theme?
The rating of your store continuously counts down, and the only way to attempt to salvage it is by raiding cheese shops, getting cheese for your pizzas, and feeding hungry customers.

Good stuff and it is tense gameplay.

I dont know if I missed something but one time I made 3 different pizzas but later I could only 3 of the same pizza (but lost cheese)

Sending rats also was not always working for me (I would not get back cheese sometimes) and sometimes would not get rats back (do they die in raids?)

Last was I was getting many bleus (i guess what pizza is random) maybe  somewhat balancing pizzas would help since it easily unbalances game.

But I did have a lot of fun when rng was not owning me.

Congrats on releasing a cool game!

The pizza making controls were fun and intuitive! Very satisfying to roll out the dough by moving your cursor around :D

Thanks :D

Cool game.  Love the silliness of it.  Hard, but fun too.  Great job!

Developer

Thanks :D

Awesome game, really intuitive, nice art and funny concept. Raiding other stores for supplies is hilarious.

Developer

Thanks :3

A difficult game, just like ours, haha

The rat raid feature is really funny. Clever idea.

Thanks for adding a music slider; few people care about that.

SFX was a bit lacking.

There's also a bug where if you turn the music off and then back on, it doesn't play.

Developer

Thank you :D

Wanted to add SFX, but even the music was added really last minute so I didn't have time :P

Super cool vibes, I love the mouse knights and the idea of raiding nearby cheese shops for cheese. I found it a bit difficult to keep swapping between tabs, maybe it would have been nicer to have everything on one screen instead of 3. Thanks for making this cute game about mice knights and pizzas!

Developer

My thought process for the different tabs were that they made it hard to see each countdown on each screen (order, pizza cook, and raid time countdowns) so you'd be in a bit of a management hell, where the main gameplay comes from. Adding better navigation, less early difficulty, and a couple QoL changes would hopefully help, so that's good for me to keep in mind for future jams. Thanks for the input :3

There was a wee bit too much going on for me unfortunately, took me a while to figure out what to do even after reading the tutorial, I got it eventually and making the pizzas is cool but maybe if it started a little slower and built up i wouldn't have been as overwhelmed at the beginning. That being said there's a lot of good systems in this and it has the bones of something you could play for a while. Good job!

Developer

Understandable criticism, thanks for the input!

the art is very cool and adding the mice made the theme more fun that just restaurant simulator type vibes!

I found it hard though, and maybe the mouse controls are a bit  buggy?

Developer

Thank you :D
Game can be a little hard, and the mouse bugging usually comes from fps issues :P

I have no clue how you came up with an idea like this and then executed it so well in  the timeframe. It's hard to get used to at first, but once you play for a while, it becomes really fun! I like the art a lot as well, and the game as a whole is very polished

Developer

Thank you :D
Basically the entire first day was just coming up with a concept, how the game would run, and planning general features. The rest of the days were pretty much just entirely spent on working on the programming side, with our artist working crazy hard, which barely let us scrape by the deadline with *actual testing this time*. I've literally never had time to playtest on GMTK jam games because half the time I add too many features ;-;. This turned out well tho :P

Only a mouse knows which cheese is the most delicious—now that is expert-level judgment! I do have one small piece of advice, though: the game feels a bit too difficult right at the start. It would be a much better experience if the difficulty scaled gradually. Overall, this is a highly polished game!

Developer

The balancing is definitely one of the things I wish I had a little more time on, thank you for the input!

Holy hell! How on earth did you manage this in time? Just when I thought the tutorial was over, it kept going, and going and going. I was pretty overwhelmed during my first runthrough but on my second I got the hang of it. Really like the idea with the knights you have to send to raid cheese factories. Cute, funny, and enjoyable. Well done!

Developer

Thank you <3

Honestly, there would be nowhere near the amount of stuff finished + polished without the help of the team. Having Flux_Sage_Sketches do literally all of the artwork (when in past year's its kinda just been me doing the art, & it takes a loooot of time....) and SilentYapper help a lot with bugtesting, making the ENTIRE tutorial on his own, and generally helping out around with various tasks gave us a bit more leeway with the game. Had to stay up until like 5 am, just a few hours before the jam was over, to finish stuff like the music, bugtesting, and the event system, but I think it was really worth it :D

Adorable game with great complexity and polish!!! There's a bit of a learning curve but it was really fun once I got the hang of it! I'm bad with distinguishing cheese so it took me a while to figure out which one was which, so having a label maybe when hovered over the icon or anything would've been helpful! Wonderful work!!

Developer(+2)

Thank you <3

(there actually was a tooltip that would show up if you hovered long enough over a cheese, but it took a second or two of being completely still to show up so some ppl didn't see it lol ;-;)

really impressive complexity that was quite a challenge to micro! Idk if it was just me, but it seemed very difficult balance-wise to manage everything, especially with raids being unreliable and seeming to lose all my minions AND not get enough cheese supply. It was tough! But i loved the art and style of everything. and it definitely captured a frantic mood of a kitchen with limited ovens and prep stations!

The tutorial was a bit overwhelming, but I'm still appreciated I got an overview. The game was actually fairly intuitive to pick up and play, just a lot of information from 3 distinct gameplay areas to manage. Glad the tutorial covered that so I knew to click the 3 zones immediately.

Really fun and technically impressive game! great work

Tweaking the balancing is definitely one of the things I would do with more time. You can get into a rhythm with micromanaging each task in each area, but especially for beginners learning the mechanics, where the UI selections are, and how the gameplay works it probably gets a little overwhelming.

Thank you for the review <3
