ngl they cooking hard, I AM EXCITEDDD

(+1)

Yeah, I can see it slipping into September, but honestly, the progress looks good. All that's left is to wait—hopefully they keep up the good work. Keep it up, Dr. Muramasa!

(+1)

Parabéns novamente, aguardamos a atualização 1.9 ansiosos.

Finally, after quite a long wait, it's great to see an update on the game's development.

Personally, I think this upcoming update looks very promising. The additions, such as the new ending system, new content, and the expanded mini-games, are all features I'm looking forward to.

Regarding the mini-games, I felt that in the previous update they weren't something I kept coming back to. After playing them a few times, there wasn't much reason to continue. Adding bonus points that can be exchanged for rewards, along with further improvements to the mini-games themselves, gives players a much better incentive to keep playing them. I think that's a really nice direction.

As for the shader and lighting changes, I'm a bit more mixed. Personally, I wasn't a big fan of the lighting introduced in Update 1.8E. It made some scenes feel a little too bright, which was somewhat uncomfortable for my eyes. I also personally prefer the original CG art style. That said, based on the examples you've shown, I do think some of the new CGs look really good.

Overall, I'm excited to see how this update turns out, and I appreciate all the work that's gone into developing it. I'm looking forward to playing it when it's released!

So what's the 30% left to do?

shit looks beautiful, thank you guys for all the hard work. Keep up the good shit! Very excited to buy the game when it comes out.

Will definitely have to wait till release, but at the moment think I'm feeling the old art style more

Me too.

First of all, I want to acknowledge the hard work you have put in so far. However, it is disheartening to learn that the update—which, to my recollection, has been delayed from late April until now in August—is only 70% complete. I had pinned my hopes on your statement from early July that it wouldn't take more than a few weeks, yet the message has now shifted to "it won't take months." Please consider how waiting users are becoming exhausted by your vague responses and attitude. While I understand that your evasive answers may stem from past experiences where you faced backlash after announcing specific update schedules, you are the ones responsible for the project, and there are people who have invested their hopes and money into this game. Unlike some Western developers who take the investment and run, your commitment to seeing the project through responsibly is admirable—though, to be fair, that is simply the right thing to do. Even if it feels like a hassle, please share updates frequently; doing so would allow us to wait with even greater anticipation. Thank you for reading this long message, and I wish you both mental and physical well-being.

This update is the fire. Can't wait to play game when update comes. so excited :)

(+1)(-1)

The images shown look amazing, can't wait for release. No matter what you would do some people will always shit on it, at the end of the day this game is available for free, I appreciate the hard work, keep it up.

(+1)

Although I don't like the redesign of Leilani, i'm very excited for the rest of the update.

Hi, can anyone tell me the game's system requirements after this update? I'm playing on a "toaster" of a PC, and from what I've seen of the game, it looks like it's going to be demanding. Oh, and if there are any errors, it's because I'm using Google Translate.

(1 edit) (+10)(-2)

Announcing an update for April, declaring  it will take "a few weeks" only to then quietly delay it past August is absurdly unprofessional behavior, even for a free product.  And then, only to discover that a lot of that time has been devoted to implementing a lighting system that, as many others have already pointed out, actively detracts from the game's artstyle by making the pictures look darker and "cluttered" by pointless shadows that only make the girls' bodies pop out less.
Like, I'm sorry but what a letdown across the board.
That being said, the ending system looks cool and I do appreciate a rework of some of the most shallow minigames like the Tower Defense one, although I hope you aren't ignoring the REAL problem with minigames: they are mechanically pointless, offering nothing worthwhile to the player after the first few mandatory times you have to play them (to win a girl). I hope the new system will keep that in mind, and introduce rewards that will actually motivate the player to keep engaging with them beyond the first few times.
That, and maybe also rebalance money a bit. Money is way too hard to earn at the start, and way too easy to earn after the mid-game.  When you discover the "secret shop" at the Mall and realize you can immediately buy everything it has to offer, or you discover you can immediately pay the debt the hitman asks you, you realize there's a problem here.

(1 edit) (+1)(-2)

I get where you're coming from with the delay, but as a fan I completely disagree that the shadows are 'pointless.' Good lighting and shadows are essential for adding depth, dimension, and volume to pixel-style illustrations—without them, flat art can easily feel dull. The new lighting actually elevates the visual quality and gives the characters a much more polished look. Also, I honestly enjoy the minigames having active gameplay like that adds a fun break and gives great replay value to adult games like this. Constructive feedback is always good, but the devs are putting in a lot of effort for us!

I think you misunderstood my point on minigames.
I'm not saying the minigames shouldn't exist. I'm saying they can be very fun, IF they make sense in the context of the game.
As things currently stand, the game gives you no reason whatsoever to go back to a minigame after you've already "obtained" the girl associated with it. They should add more rewards, more reasons for players to engage with minigames.
Items that unlock new scenes, outfits for Anna, tools that make other minigames easier. Even something as small and easily developed as cosmetic objects to decorate the player's room, which I thought was a no-brainer since I first played the game. ANYTHING to make these games, which now feel largely pointless,  more worthwhile.

Hello, this is my first contribution in feedback for a game in development at Itch, I like that they have integrated better lighting, I hope it is included in the game enough to deactivate it so everyone will be comfortable, personally I like it, it gives a touch of immersion, I see so much potential in this game, I would say that if they added two or three animations per character, people would go crazy, on the other hand I really like the VHS effects that they put on the characters, it seems like a interesting artistic design, I wish you a lot of encouragement, this game is very good, the people who complain about the AI I don't understand it much here I feel that they used it well, correctly, W Starmaker team

(-2)

I liked the new shadows on the CGs, especially the pool one. Looking foward to the update.

Also, since you guys are redoing a good amount of the game, can we expect anything different about the livestreams? I think the whole event plays out like a huge step storywise, but i feel that the content there is not that much satisfying.

上一次更新在二月,根据现有条件,基本十月底才会有更新

(+1)(-5)

There is a quote that lives rent free in my brain, "people love to hate at greatness". Starmaker has been and will be a great project and that´s why we cant get enough of it. But people think they are in control of someone else work. You can say that the waiting is annoying or a drag, but call it "unprofessional" is insane cuz let get it straight: the developer has a view for his work, he wants to achieve his vision, that takes time while dealing with real life too and then, you (like me) we are just sitting waiting but have the audacity to call the people working on it "unprofessional", go to therapy.

Regardless how long it take we all know we will enjoy whatever is there to enjoy from the game and, if the waiting is to much and feel entitled for a reason or a deadline, well move on play another game. If you are not enjoying it go find something you enjoy cuz demanding things that you have no right on is ridiculous.

(+2)

since you're clearly targeting this at me, let me be clear: I didn't say that making people wait was "unprofessional". I said that announcing a release window for an update, only to then disregard said release window and release the update FIVE MONTHS after the provided deadline, only making a statement when the delay is too ridiculous to be ignored, is unprofessional. Because it is.

(+5)

If this game was trash, there would be no one in these forums. It's just that the wait is a killer.
At the end. all that matters is that the game is good. Keep cooking.

Work the shaft
