Great concept and very pleasing adventure hook!

What I thought worked well

  • Visually neat and striking. I love the title twist with Forbidden being hidden from the cover. Efficient.
  • Very simple and easy to read. Tight and focused and to the point.
  • Great simple concept. Nothing revolutionary but right up my alley and easy to pick up and start ideating.

What I thought could be improved

  • Despite the focus, simplicity and brevity, this comes at the cost that it does feel a bit lacking in content and the GM needs to fill in a lot in my opinion. Maybe some roll tables or a system around how the fungi spread?
  • The map and locations lack some interesting elements for the most part. Some key items or events. Not even sure where the body is (but I can guess)

Nice setup, with the locked base, the fungus and the whole “stranded on an alien planet” thing, but it’s missing something to make it click: a source of tension. In the module you’ve written, captain Eyza has activated an emergency protocol with no clear end (when will she blow up the base, if nobody manages to persuade her the situation is under control? How can they persuade her?) against a threat which maybe isn’t even there (is there anyone infected by the fungus?).

I mean, it’s a nice setup, but it’s missing a good reason for the PCs to not sit there playing cards with the rest of the crew until the captain is satisfied that nobody has been infected.

Nice pitch e great sitcom-like crew description, underachiving for lack of true danger or menace. Everything in this is good but the "this is a roleplay adventure part".

Absolutely dreamy color palette & a very clean layout. Love the maps, and how lightweight everything is, whilst still remaining absolutely horrifying. The NPCs all feel real, and the isolation has strong The Thing vibes. Good work!

I want to praise the overall style, especially the room descriptions and NPCs have this brilliant, almost The Office-like corporate deadpan humor to them that grounds the sci-fi setting so well!

A few minor additions would improve the game at the table: the text describes a Medbay, but it’s missing from both floor plans.

The hook about ocean creatures holding a potential vaccine is awesome, some concrete ideas or checks on how the PCs could actually study, or sample them to isolate a cure would be super helpful. The same for NPCs: threat levels or tags would help GMs run conflicts smoothly.

A brief guide or framework on how to roll/structure the adventure (like infection progression clocks, containment check intervals, paranoia clocks...) would give GMs an immediate roadmap.

Overall, I think it's a deeply atmospheric and funny sci-fi survival scenario with fantastic potential.

I don't think you're allowed to update you entry while ratings are going on. I say that, because I see 1.0 and 1.1 and your comment at the bottom?

Beyond that, I like the flavor and visual design of this a lot. It's super trippy and the descriptions are good. However, I think it has too many gaps for a GM to run it

Oh man my eyes are just drinking up that magenta and pink. This is probably my favourite visual design so far. I also really like how you stretched the title accross both pages. It allowed you to keep the book jacket design but create a better visual flow.

It's a really nice, tense and contained scenario as well.

Sounds like they got mushrooms in their brains and they’re gonna have to do some murder about it. Pretty weird, good stuff.

Thank you !

You've got a lot of really cool little details packed in here, great vibes. I think a little bit more on the mechanical side might make is easier to run at the table.

Developer

Thank you ! By mechanical, do you mean things like "If you want to find a cure : make an Intelligence roll with disadvantage" or more like "Each hour, make a secret saving throw for each character, if they fail, they are infected by the mushroom". Or something else entirely ?

It could be a lot of different things. Mostly what I mean is a few more specific handholds for the GM. I only want to ask the GM to freehsnd do much during play.

Thanks for the clarification.

Really like how you introduced each of the characters with a quote, it captures thier vibe, which will be important for stating them out for whatever system is chosen! I do think some more clarity on possible routes to containing or curing the fungus would be a good addition, as well as some possible complications in case the GM needs to shake things up.

Developer

Thank you ! I actually got the character quote idea from this module https://norgad.itch.io/dead-weight

Fixed some typos in the 1.1 version.
