Great entry here! There’s no doubt that the theme is conveyed throughout. The art and layout work well together and overall it’s very easy to follow. This one goes into my collection of entries to give a shot at at my table!

Developer

Thank you so much! If you run it, let me know how it goes!

Storm-sibling! I really like your take on Borg aesthetics; very moody and textural. Beautiful cover. It feels very elemental to me, in the way a rock cover would, and the writing matches. Wonderful <3

Developer

Storm-sibling indeed! I’m glad the elemental is comes across!

Fun stormy night slog, with good built in stakes for not dealing with this issue promptly. It would be fun to place this on your hexmap, and it triggers when you’ve had too many bad weather rolls in a row! I love the layout for the encounters + activity.

Developer

I love the idea of it being a sandbox weather event, great idea!

Impressive how efficiently this is laid out whilst still feeling packed with content and... sort of luxurious to read in how polished it is. The locations are distinct and detailed and on theme, but nothing feels cramped or compressed to fit the space. It reads really well and feels ready to play, and doesn't feel like any compromises had to be made to fit the space limitations or other constraints of the jam. Also the use of lightning is cool and fun.

And the art! Look at that cover! Deserved a whole page and got it.

Developer

Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed reading it :)

Shocking! Cool villain and Mork-Borg-vibes out the wazoo, but I think the real champion here is the art. That cover! Really punchy, immediately sets a tone. The map is great too. It sets a strong tone, and it seems like it could inspire a GM's descriptions as much as being a place for the party to navigate.

Developer

Thank you! I’m glad the map is evocative!

Excellent stuff! clear presentation, evocative illustration that fits well with Mork Borg. The document is well laid out with good spacing, the whole thing is well-polished and immanently gameable. Great!

Really took the theme and delivered something special with it. Great job all around.

This is slick, as I expected it to be. Not a wasted word really. Very well drawn scenario and super-clean locations and encounters. Marvelous. I really like the d6 reactions for each creature. Trophy does that and I've used myself a couple of times. I think it really adds something to the encounters.

Developer(+1)

Trophy is a great source of inspiration!

Elemental and epic in both its text imagery, it conducts a powerful fantasy. The cover art and typography is so evocative and galvanic it makes me jitter with excitement. An absolutely electric fit for Mörk Borg. The layout is and the text is clear as a flash of thunder, and the tables in the back jolt me with possibilities for memorable encounters. A very positively charged point-crawl. Lightning in a bottle!

Thank you so much!

Typography: lovely font, and you’ve done a good job of layout with font size, line length, leading etc. You obviously know what you’re doing here. A couple of suggestions: Copyright line is way too small when printed. Disappears completely.

Also, with light text on dark background, the strokes of the letters can get a bit too thin. I noticed there was a ‘News Roman’ weight in the font family. It looks a little bit thicker and better suited for small type.

Some keyword-bolding might help with scannability. Because this is white on dark, my usual go-to of highlighting important bits does not work as well.

Prose: very well written. Was easy to follow on the first read-through. You could tighten it further by making it more direct and active-voice:

Before: "Can unleash a wave of lightning to hit..."
After: "Unleashes a wave of lightning to hit..."

Also there’s a bit of duplication between headings and contents:

Heading: "Crown forged of lightning"
First line: “The crown can only be removed…”
Edited: “Can only be removed…”

Love the encounter table with the nested activies. Really aides the Referee in the moment. If I were to add anything here, a rumours table might be useful. There’s potential for more in-depth interactions or faction-play with the saved villagers, the crows, the occulists:

  • Maybe the villages provide clues or rumours for rescuing them. For example, telling the players to smother themselves in gore etc.
  • Maybe there’s a boon or curse for worshipping the meteorite.
  • For the crows, some signposting to leave a trinket: base of the tree decorated with trinkets and knick-knacks. If the players try and steal, it turns the crows against them.
  •  As this is Mork Borg, those impaled sentinels could be undead and pleading for mercy or something.

Overall, you’ve nailed the prompt 100%. Love the overall package. Will figure out a way to run this in OSE sometime. Doesn’t look too hard to convert.

Elegant cover, hilarious trek through the storm and the draugr. Really liked how you fleshed out each encounter with flavor.

Developer

Thank you! I’m glad folks are liking the encounter table.

That feeling of impending doom when we begin this scenario, love it!

That’s what I was aiming for!

Fantastic artwork and layout! I also love the writing in the encounter table. It says so much in so few words.

I really liked how this feels like a melding of Mörk Borg grimness and Mythic Bastionland's epic mythology. The art really elevates it too. Drips atmosphere.

Thanks Doog!

Beautiful layout, stellar illustration (the texture...good lort).

The encounter table especially struck me. So much detail and story in those little slivers.

Developer

You’re too kind!
