It was a pretty solid platformer / shooting game. Art and sounds were solid. I like that the boss had different moves, with unique sounds for each one to help articulate what it was doing. Placement of enemies and movement of the boss offered a fun challenge.

From what I could see, there doesn’t seem to be an explanation of the controls. The movement and jumping were self-explanatory, but I had to mess around to find out to click to shoot.

Changing direction of where I was shooting was funny. I assume it’s supposed to aim in the direction the mouse is from the crab, but it wasn’t consistent in that.

Thanks a lot for playing my game!

This was the first platformer I've made, and also the first game where I created a fully functional boss fight!

Naturally, some things were left out due to the short development time—like my plan to display the controls on a sign at the start of the game, or even create a dedicated screen for them.

Regarding the shooting mechanic, I wanted to allow aiming wherever the mouse was pointing; however, since the game supports controllers, I would have needed to program a specific object controlled by the analog sticks. I ran out of time for that, so I implemented "crab shooting"—firing only to the sides, lol.

I really liked having the shells drop and than switching it would be cool if these were more integrated into the platforming. The fact that you were  able to get a boss in time as a solo dev was pretty cool (even if I couldn't beat it :'( )

Thank you!!!

It was really hard to  make everything, but I really tried. This was my first boos, so I feel that I could have done something better lol

Really simple and fun game!

The boss fight cooked me. I would also appreciate some feedback on what the shells actually do, and maybe include those in the boss fight too.

I like the concept, and the art is nice too.

Thank you very much for playing my game!

Every shell modifies the crab's base attributes. For example, the can shell makes it slower and causes it to fall faster, the rainbow shell makes the crab double all its attributes, and the spiky shell resists more damage while making it slower. So each shell itself gives you different attributes!

And to make the game harder, if you reach the boss with a shell, you have the chance to fight them using the shell you picked up previously. However, if you die, you lose the shell and will have to fight without one (might be a bug, but it's a good feature lol).
