Had me super invested! Shelly is cute and funny, especially with the intro cutscene! Controls fairly well, and has a good amount of challenge that is usually balanced solidly. I also like how the player is given freedom to tackle the different challenges in different order.

The only big issue I have is that, first, the moving platforms seem to have a tendency to desync, making it so you have to wait a long time to be able to have the space to jump between them. Second, in the underground puzzle, the camera tends to clip through the walls, preventing you from seeing anything from certain angles.

It was a pretty solid platformer / shooting game. Art and sounds were solid. I like that the boss had different moves, with unique sounds for each one to help articulate what it was doing. Placement of enemies and movement of the boss offered a fun challenge.

From what I could see, there doesn’t seem to be an explanation of the controls. The movement and jumping were self-explanatory, but I had to mess around to find out to click to shoot.

Changing direction of where I was shooting was funny. I assume it’s supposed to aim in the direction the mouse is from the crab, but it wasn’t consistent in that.

I liked the different shell mechanics. I could see this being expanded upon to provide more challenges involving the different shells. Maybe even challenges requiring multiples shells at once to be used. The platforming did seem a bit tight at some points. In the Dash shell level, there’s a tight spot you have to dash into right before the end of the level that was difficult to get into.

Solid pixel art. The portal animation is particularly neat. I also like the UIs and title screen art.

I had fun with it. I enjoyed the running around and gathering of different items, and I liked the powerup thing. Art was pretty solid, and I liked the music and sound effects.

Felt, for the most part, very fun and smooth to play. I enjoyed having the variety in movement between switching between shells and dashing alongside shooting, with the vortex dash and linking allowing for variety in how you can defeat the enemies. The vortex dash, in particular, provided a fun challenge. I enjoy that there’s enemy varieties, bosses, and the disaster protocel as various factors allowing variety in obstacles.

The art and animation is also very cool and smooth, providing decent animations and flashy effects to bosses, the disaster protocol, and shots between enemies and player.

I had some times where I couldn’t move the cursor or shoot despite moving the mouse or clicking the left mouse button. Though that could also be a problem on my end.

Textures and objects are fairly well designed. I liked the addition of cutscenes to show where the player needed to go, and changing enemy location requiring the player to move around to reach the enemies. Having the simply ground pound the enemies could be a bit repetitive, but I found it fine enough for the length of the game.

Art is pretty good. The gameplay art looks polished, and the cutscene art is simple in a good way, even if it contrasts the game art a bit. I liked the addition of sound effects for shooting, as well as variations in enemies as far as design, speed, and defense goes. I think progression could’ve been smoother though. Level 1 was pretty easy, but Level 2 was super difficult. There’s also no explanation as to why the crab gets damaged when an enemy goes to the bottom of the screen, even if they don’t touch the crab.

No problem! We're glad you enjoyed the game!
