I loved that claustrophobic atmosphere. That's interresting how the dithering changes everything, and makes you fell even more lost ! On my first play though, I had no clue what I could see... I thought that it was a weird sphere... But once i got used to it it was clear.
The few piano notes are great ! It gets a bit repetitive, though.
I wonder, is there and end ? Or... There is no end. Just getting lost ? If so, is it generated ?
Thanks! Yes, the room is actually a procedurally-generated Voronoi maze.
My composer friend gave me several tunes and variations to work with but I unfortunately could not integrate the variations into the game within the deadline.
Btw, I love the art style in your game! What software did you use to make the sprites?
Oooh ! That's procedurally generated. It makes it much more interresting. Is it the same seed every game ? Does the explored path remain, or is it erased ?
A yes, deadlines... Decisions have to be made.
As for Memoire Eternelle, I believe that Rature used Inkscape to draw outlines out of photographies. Then he exported them. That's a style he uses a lot in his games. (We were 2 : Rature and me)
That’s amazing! Inspired by Balatro, we used mouse jitter data as the seed for procgen. The explored path remains until you shoot an eye. After that, the maze is re-generated. Looking forward to playing other stuff by you guys :)
it'd be fun iF IT WASNT SO LAGGY!!! I RAN 2 FPS ON THE GAME AND THE SENSITIVITY IS SO BAD I HAD TO SWIPEMULTIPLE TIMES TO TURN AROUND!!! cool graphics tho
Thanks for the feedback! One thing to check — the intro cutscene (where the player wakes and gets up) has movement controls intentionally disabled, so it can feel unresponsive there, but everything should work normally once gameplay starts. Was the lag during the cutscene or after? Also curious what device/browser you were using in case there’s a real performance issue to fix.
both during the cutscene and after there was intense lag, and again, the sensitivity is crazy low
Which browser are you using? What device?
safari and a MacBook Air 2017
Ah, gotcha — thanks for confirming! It runs well for me on Chrome and Firefox, so it sounds like there may be a Safari-specific performance/input issue, especially on older Macs. I’ll look into that and the sensitivity issue as well. Thanks for helping me narrow it down!
