That was a really fun game I loved switching between what was needed the most. I didn't finish because I accidentally pressed the back button 😭

Developer

Thanks! Going back doesn't reset you back to the first zone, it just allows you to change the difficulty. (Honestly 100% my fault, I probably should have made that more apparent :/)

Submitted

No like I accidentally clicked the back button on my mouse and it refreshed the browser

Developer

OHHHHH... Yeah I can't help you there, I didn't make the game save since it is decently short ._.

Submitted

Yeah makes sense I don't expect game saving in a jam lol. It was a skill issue on my part I got too into the game and misclicked.

This was super fun! I personally wasn't great at it and didn't finish it, but I loved what I did play! I imagine the difficulty settings are super helpful for people like me who need it to be a bit easier, but I just tried it on normal haha

Very good game, pretty fast-paced and with a really good difficulty. I couldn't get very far, I think I made it to the third level, but I really liked the variety of ways to attack. It makes you always try new strategies. The intro is really good, and I also really liked the sound. Very good work!

Developer

Thanks! If you ever want to finish the game, in the PowerShell there is an option to go back to the difficulty select screen at any time if a zone is too difficult.

This is an extremely smart idea! I really enjoyed trying the different colors, red and green being my favorite. The breaking free by clicking was a cool intro. I do think the core game could be highlighted quicker, because it is really good and a completely different game style than a dark maze. The sound and music really brought it to life, and the timer did a great job of making me rush/ know how long the round would be about. You managed to fit quite a bit of content in short time frame. Awesome job!

good game

This one is such a sleeper hit. I'm so impressed with how much you managed to cram into this little thing, with its 5 difficulties, 4 weapon types, 7 colors, variety of enemy types, tutorial, and other mechanics like the timer! So much to love about this one. I thought the way that the PowerShell was introduced was clever, in how it forced the player to learn how to operate it first. And I thought the decision to include a timer was a smart way to force the player to not stand in a corner to heal.

I did wish the other colors had more of a use in the actual game beyond the tutorial, though.

Developer

Thanks! I'm not really sure why people keep saying there isn't a reason to swap colors (other than yellow), but I'm going to assume I just made the easier difficulties too easy to the point where the timer isn't a problem ._. (In hard or insanity, you really need to play optimally).

Submitted

Yeah you made a good case for just about all of them (sans yellow) in your video. I can definitely see how each of them could be helpful. Maybe it's just a layer of mastery that most players aren't able to reach right away (which is a good thing!).

I beat it on normal mode, challenging and fun for the length. my strategy became switching between red and green unless briefly for a differently colored enemy lol

Submitted

I like the gimmick, just generally an overall solid experience, my only real gripe is that I basically have no reason not to just constantly be on Green when moving around, and the expanding squares are a bit of a pain to properly space around.

Developer

Thanks! Green is probably only the best on either beginner or easy difficulty. It is much worse than red or blue on harder difficulties since it is harder to kill enemies quick enough, and too many enemies on screen make you get hit more anyway.

fun game. good job   :D

This game was super fun. Being able to change aspects of your character using the little shell terminal was a great application of the theme. I found myself switching between heal mode and take half damage mode so I could tank all of the enemies.

Developer (1 edit)

There is much more to the game plan than just the dark maze introduction ._.

Just go to the far right, and there is a tunnel up.

Submitted

The sounds make it so creepy! Good interpretation on the theme, very creative!

I was ready for a jumpscare lol, great game

Developer

Genuinely good luck attempting insanity. I am still trying to beat it myself (Mainly because I keep dying right at the end) ._.

Developer

NVM, I verified it :). Kernelspace and The Core are just way harder than the first 2 zones ._.

Developer

Great game, 5 Stars, would recommend. 100% Unbiased ._.
