Theme explanation
The telescope only has one layer in the beginning and we can only see big stars, we can create more lenses and layer them in the telescope to see smaller stars.

Love the idea, I loaded in and instantly felt like I was playing those point-n-click games back in the day 🤣🤣. I noticed that you put mobile support too which is really impressive! I liked the SFX and felt very comfy playing this game hahaha. It was challenging, but not in a way that I felt was unfair.

Thank you very much!!

Sadly the mobile support isn't mobiling or supporting yet, hehe.. This was last-minute and isn't usable just now :( But this is definitely on my list of things I need to work at in future development. Thanks for playing! <3

Interesting idea! I managed to find all the first constellations though I was confused as to why I as able to make more connections even though I had already completed my constelations and I didn't upgrade the wand then. I just made it through the first level, cuz damn, finding those constellations took time XD

A couple things I could mention that would make the game better

  • The hover colors of the windows and buttons were a bit confusing, at first I thought the button was pressed by pressing the window (since the unhovered button only lights up when im hovering the window
  • In the constellations gameplay it would be nice to be able to open AND close the constellations book with the same button instead of having to move and press the "x" at the other side

Other than that, pretty neat!

Thank you so much for such a detailed comment!

The idea for leveling-up was that we can't SEE the smaller stars until we upgrade, so it's impossible to complete them until we do, but it is still possible to connect those stars that are already available to us. Also I've made it so all level-one constellations aren't necessary to upgrade (six total, but we only need five to gain an inspiration). Also - the number-one item on my list of further development is drawing the lines on the big sky, so that it's easier to seek those ones we haven't found yet!

(A bit of oversharing nobody asked for: by the end of the jam my eyes were swimming and I couldn't adequately estimate just how hard or easy it is to find the constellations if you don't already know where they are, and all my friends who could possibly beta-test it for me were too busy, so I'm sure this aspect is realistically not balanced at all T_T)

As for suggestions - the book's opening and closing ia very much noted, your suggestion is actually very logical and I'll definitely change that, but could you please explain the first issue a bit more? I'm a bit confused ><

Oooh I see I see, yeah that makes sense! I also notices that a big star logo appeared when I got the first 5 constellations, but I didn't check. And no yeah, makes sense, we're all tired at the end of the jam :,(.

I checked out the issue I again, and I was mistaken, I thought the button was grayed out by default, but it's the window. I think it might've been a bit confusing to me at first that the window lights up on hovering, while the button darkens when hovered, so when you hover the window, it looks like both are light up, and if you hover the button, both are dark. That's more of a confusion issue tbh, if u wanna look into it, hopefully it makes sense now

Developer

I think I do - and I suppose it would be good to make all interface more uniform, including the window. Thank you again SO MUCH for putting time to comment! <3

I really liked the use of the theme and the narrative around the feedback loop (get inspiration from stars to make more lenses). I actually tried this out on mobile and the arrows work well but forming constellations was more difficult (double clicking on mobile doesn't always work). Zooming in and out would've been nice to have. But overall, good work! ☆

Developer

Yeah, I actually didn't even think of making it for mobile as well in the beginning, one of my friends tried it in the middle of debug so I decided to ATTEMPT at making it availbale for touchscreen as well, buuuut I ran out of time to tune it :( So - sorry for that, everything does what it must on PC...

Thanks very much for playing! And I'll kepp in mind the zoom for future development!

Really cool concept! The game is cute, cosy and fun! Too bad there is no music.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! <3

I didn't want to use music from open sources and didn't manage my time well enough to make my own, unfortunately :(

Neat idea for a game about stargazing. Really quite the scavenger hunt! Thanks!

I just wish I could have seen the constellations connected on the night sky once finding them with the telescopes. That would have helped me see where some of the negative space to explore was. (It'd also be nice to zoom in on a specific spot or have a minimap to help navigate around a bit quicker or not lose bearing when jumping into telescope mode.)

Thank you very much for the feedback! I'll keep these things in mind for future development! <3
