Wow! Very impressive that you made this in just two days. The detail in the art of the character and enemies is outstanding. I was having trouble killing enemies at first but switching to first person helped with that. This game would really benefit from some music though. I feel like it was lacking the excitement it deserved with just the background wind sound
Thank you so much for the kind words and awesome feedback! I'm really glad you enjoyed it and that switching to first-person helped with combat! ๐ฒโจ
To be completely transparent: pulling this off in just 2 days was an intense, non-stop sprint! I utilized Google's Gemini AI assistant to help rapidly write and debug the C# systems and procedural audio, combined with great free asset packages from the Unity Asset Store for the 3D models and animations. It still took intense focus and hard work across those 48 hours to assemble and balance everything into a fully working game!
You're completely spot on about the music. With the tight 2-day deadline, we focused on procedural ambient wind and essential SFX, but adding a proper, energetic battle and ambient music track is definitely at the top of my list for the post-jam update.
Thanks again for playing and for the wonderful encouragement! ๐
This is a solid survival action game with enjoyable exploration and combat. The animal models are one of its strongest features—the boars, wolves, bears, and larger creatures look good and are easy to identify while moving through the environment. The low-poly visual style is consistent, and the character model and combat animations also look well developed.
The health and resource displays, enemy health bar, and radar provide useful information during gameplay. I also appreciated the character choice and the available How to Play guide. Fighting animals, gathering meat, bones, and hides, improving equipment, and preparing for the boss create a good survival progression.
Stronger visual or sound feedback when an attack connects would make the combat feel more impactful. The prehistoric theme could also be clearer, since many of the animals and environmental elements currently feel more like a general wilderness or fantasy setting. Adding extinct animals, primitive tools, prehistoric plants, caves, or other recognizable prehistoric details would strengthen the theme.
One small correction: the game page describes this as first-person, but the current build uses a third-person camera. Overall, this is an impressive and enjoyable survival game with good animal models and a strong foundation.
Thank you so much for such a detailed, thoughtful, and encouraging review! I really appreciate the time you took to play through the game and explore all the mechanics. ๐ฒ
I'm thrilled to hear you enjoyed the progression loop, the animal models, animations, and the HUD systems like the radar and health bars!
Regarding your points and suggestions:
1. Combat Feedback: Adding better hit-stop, screen shake, and punchier audio/VFX impact will definitely be a priority in the post-jam polish.
2. Prehistoric Theme: Great ideas regarding extinct fauna, prehistoric vegetation, and caves to really lean deeper into that setting.
3. Camera Perspective: Actually, you can toggle between First-Person and Third-Person views at any time by pressing 'V'! Thanks for pointing this out — I'll make sure to highlight the 'V' key clearly in the Controls section on the page so other players don't miss it.
Thank you again for the fantastic feedback and kind words — it really means a lot! ๐
I keep asking myself "how?", how does this game run without lagging in the browser? It's amazing, and making a 3D game for such a short jam is impressive on its own. It turned out really good, you can clearly notice some rough edges that come from the limited time, but seeing what was possible to pull off, I think it's amazing. Congrats on the great game!
Thank you so much for such high praise and the wonderful comment! That really made my day! ๐โจ
Getting smooth 60 FPS performance in WebGL was a huge priority during the jam! A lot of it came down to keeping the models low-poly, optimizing the C# loops to avoid garbage collection stutters, and generating all game audio procedurally in code instead of loading heavy external sound files.
Building a full 3D survival game in such a short timeframe was definitely an intense sprint with a few rough edges, but hearing that you had such a smooth and enjoyable experience makes all the effort completely worth it.
Thanks again for playing and for the fantastic encouragement! ๐
cudnt run dis on mah machine
Sorry to hear you ran into issues!
The game runs directly in the browser via WebGL. Here are a few quick tips that might help get it running:
1. Make sure you're playing on a desktop/PC (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Brave work best). It is not configured for mobile browsers.
2. Make sure "Use hardware acceleration when available" is turned ON in your browser settings.
3. Disable any aggressive ad-blockers/script blockers for the page, as they can sometimes block WebAssembly loading.
What browser and operating system are you using? Let me know if you see any specific error screen or crash message!
Interesting game! Liked the idea of a 3D hunting/surviving game.
Although, there are some issues I had when playing the game. When I pressed Tab or I to bring up the "Crafting & Upgrades", nothing happened. Also the hit box on the bear was weird, sometimes it would hit and sometimes it doesn't hit.
Still had a great time though!
Thank you so much for playing and for taking the time to leave constructive feedback! I'm really glad you enjoyed the 3D hunting and survival concept! ๐ฒ
Regarding the issues you mentioned:
1. Crafting / Upgrades (Tab / I): Thanks for pointing that out! There was a keybinding/UI toggle issue with the menu in this jam build that slipped through during the final submission rush.
2. Bear Hitbox: You're completely right — due to the larger size of the bear and the tight jam deadline, the melee hit detection / collider range can be finicky from certain angles.
I'm definitely planning to refine the hitboxes and fix the upgrade menu in a post-jam update! Thanks again for playing and for your kind words! ๐
