nicely done!
it took me a while to figure out how that i was supposed to use the stars themselves instead of just the shape
loved the art style!
please try my game!
Really liked the idea of using constellation construction as combat mechanics. Overall good work i would say. :)
Cool idea, creative approach to the theme!
Gameplay: The gameplay reminded me a bit of okami. The thing is- in Okami, when you painted the shapes the game slowed down, so you could be precise. Here, the pace stays the same, and since you need to pretty precise to draw more complex shapes... I just ended up spamming pillar and the fist. It wasn't called the fist, but I forgot how it was called. You get the idea :) I'd prefer slower gameplay, where I could have an opportunity to be more deliberate in choosing my moves.
Audio + graphics: decent pixel art! The enemies had a bit of Castlevania vibe. The backgrounds could be more varied. Also- you spend most of the time looking at the top of the screen, so you don't get much chance to appreciate the enemies.
Theme: Very cool take on the theme. You took "stargazing" and build a combat mechanic on top of that, that doesn't feel "tacked on".
Over all- Some design decisions didn't land for me, but the original take elevates the game as a whole. Keep it up!
The game was good, but it was a little hard to draw quickly and figure out what to use. But honestly, that was part of the fun! Really good game, keep it up!
🌌🔥 OKAYYY, THIS IS SUCH A COOL CONCEPT!! 🔥🌌
I really enjoyed this one! The idea of playing as a scribe who can’t directly fight, but instead draws constellations to cast divine powers is such a creative take on the STARGAZING theme 😭✨ You guys definitely cooked with this mechanic.
What stood out to me the most is how the constellation drawing isn’t just a gimmick — it is the combat system. I’m trying to trace patterns in the sky while enemies are closing in, and when it works, it feels super satisfying 💥⭐ That connection between “looking at the stars” and actually using them in gameplay is really well done.
I also liked the Codex system a lot 📖. It makes the constellations feel like something you’re learning and collecting over time, which adds a nice sense of progression and discovery. The presentation overall has a strong old-school adventure vibe that fits the idea really well.
One thing I’d love to see improved is the constellation drawing feel. Sometimes the moving stars made it a bit tricky to connect what I wanted 😭 Maybe a bit more forgiving input or a subtle highlight for the next closest star could make it smoother without lowering the challenge.
Also, I think there’s a lot of potential in expanding the divine effects / lore side. Even small additions like unique descriptions for each constellation or slight variations based on accuracy could make the Codex feel even more rewarding 🌌📖
But overall, this is a really strong jam idea. You took “stargazing” and turned it into an actual gameplay mechanic in a very creative way, and I had a good time playing it 🔥
🎉 Great job to the whole team!! With a bit more polish on the drawing system and progression depth, this could become something really special.
And if you get some time, please have a look at my game too! 😭🙏 I’d really appreciate any feedback. Even a small comment would mean a lot!
Good luck with the jam!! 🫡🌠
Good game and great improvements since the first version I tested! Good job! In the first version, I’ve unlocked a lot of moves… in this version, only 2 =P
It was kind of difficult to draw some of the constellations, like the sheild, which was a bit annoying. Besides that, I really enjoyed this one, and the concept was really creative as well!
Much improved since I beta tested it!
Gameplay 4/5 - Fun to play and definitely held my attention. The different enemies and powers made it feel varied and interesting. I think it was a little slow to give new constellations for me, which took away from the sense of discovery that it had before.
Creativity 4/5 - Drawing constellations to cast spells is a cool magic system. I didn't get to the cloudy skies section but that's a clever way to add difficulty.
Art Style 4/5 -It looked good in general, but some of the art felt a little flat, I think the lack of shadows under the characters did it. Also it would be nice if the hearts below the player showed how much damage you had taken instead of just how many hearts were left.
Audio 4/5 - The sound effects worked well and the music was fitting.
Theme 5/5 - Great take on the theme!
The game was great, like Mikehy said, it's a bit hard to get the constellations right as the stars move.
SUPER cool concept I really like the mechanic. it is a bit tricky to nail because the way the stars move but its really really cool
