Themes
Obey The Game Master: the plan was to have an evil overlord who decides the rules of the arena. This is kind of implied as it's fight to survive, and modifiers are applied after each round to spice things up a bit.

You're Not Allowed To Win: this is an endless survival roguelike fighting arena where the only eventual outcome is defeat!

It didn't fullscreen correctly for me, but I don't see other's mentioning that so maybe it's me.

It's a cool game. I also didn't realise I could loot, though I clearly saw the highlight, maybe an in-game prompt would solve that, Textures are nice and clean, so it didn't look too noisy as can happen with 3D here.

Nice roguelike!
Everything there is to say was probably already said, so yeah, loved the game!

Awesome game!

Unique art style, fitting music, and a kind of raw energy. Love it =)

I really like the named levels and the light beams to ascend to the next level. Nice touch.

My savage side enjoyed your game a lot!

Went up to round 5 with 23 kills. I love it.

Controls are good, the graphics are perfect, and you've dealt with the resolution in a perfect way! So many great little details.

Only cons: It's a little too hard right away. The gameplay is too frantic to bother dealing with inventory. I would like some slow moments to walk around and admire the map and all your details.

Wow the atmosphere and art was incredible. I liked the 3D environment with the thick outlines, it really kept all the entities completely readable. It seemed that fullscreen on the webuild didn't actually change the screen size, but that was a minor issue that didn't detract much. All in all, really cool!

Oooh, yeeeaaah, it's all coming together.

YAYS :

  • The intro audio got me into the mood RIGHT AWAY, plus after you finish a challenge.
  • Loved the way the camera moves as you look up/down
  • The power ups seemed cool, didn't get to explore them all yet.
  • Enemies clearly telegraphed their attacks, also the different types of enemeis. Loved the doggos. Need some more variance for seeing them in the distance.
  • Character animations suit the style, and with a few frames telegraph it really well.
  • Leaving the bodies on the ground made it easier for me to navigate my way around and add to the power fantasy - nice touch.
  • Combat is fast but requires some thought.
  • Watching other enemies attack one another really sold the ambiance as well.

NAYS :

  • Stamina bar is same colour as all the blood we're dropping everywhere, i often ignored it / couldn't see it.
  • Locking onto an enemy still felt a bit weird, can we have an indicator like an outline or our reticle to help aim. I ended up just doing combat without that mode but it seemed promising
  • Didn't rrealise you can loot foes - walked all over so many bodies :D

Thoughts

  • Potentially be able to swap the camera view from over one shoulder to the other for those who prefer it.

AMAZING submission for the themes 'Obey The Game Master' and 'You're Not Allowed To Win'.

One of the submissions i'll be sharing around / coming back to play. Thanks !

Very cool vibes and presentation, took a while to find anyone to fight, but ramped up nicely from there.  Gets a little repetitive but still had fun with some tense moments getting surrounded.  Well done!

An engaging experience packaged in a short polished game! It has the same whiff punish satisfaction that you get from other similar games. I'll be definitely playing this during breaks. Well done!

Very visceral. Agree on the repetitive aspect, but I was kinda hooked anyway, kudos to the presentation, the camera angle is unusual for a lowrez game and very nice

Submitted(+1)

That was fun! As others have said it becomes a bit repetitive, but the combat system was fun enough to keep me engaged.

I could see this being improved with different upgrades, attacks and such.

Great entry overall!

Super cool game! The combat is simple yet extremely engaging and fun. I felt the game, by design, becomes repetitive relatively quick though. The art and audio work together wonderfully and create a great sense of atmosphere. Good work!

Developer

Completely agree the core gameplay loop could be a bit more exciting with some more variety but really appreciate you playing.

Your game looks incredible, I will definitely check it out!

This is an amazingly well put together. The controls are simple but work great, i never felt like a hit was unfair. Great job!

Ascending in the light made me lol, gg!

This game was so much fun! Great job, and bonus points for using GameMaker!

Thank you!

And hello fellow GameMaker dev!  :D

The art looks so good! Usually 3D games end up feeling/looking flat in my opinion (during the Low Rez Jam).

This one definitely doesn't!
