I didn’t hear any audio, so not sure if this is a bug or not. But overall great job for the game jam! :D

Developer

unfortunately we didnt have enough time before submission to add the audio but the theme music is included in the files on the game page!! glad you liked it <3

Took me a little while to understand the multipliers but it's a fun little game ! I would have loved a bit more feedback, though. Maybe a screen saying you didn't reach enough points or something. Great job !

Great take on the theme! The multipliers add a cool twist to the formula and the ingredient visuals are really fun, especially the pepper.

Developer(+1)

We all love the cheeky jalapeno lol. Glad you liked it!

Fun little game!

Developer

I'm glad you tried the game out! It could have really used a tutorial, some difficulty tweaks, and def bigger text, but you know how game jams are. Still, thanks for the feedback!

Some very interesting math going on with the ingredients that I don't fully understand, but it's a very neat concept! The various ingredients gave me a chuckle and I could easily see it being expanded into a larger game about trying to make burgers to fit customer's tastes. One thing is that missing the burger with the top bun seems to softlock the game, but other than that, quite fun!

Developer(+2)

I'm glad you liked the concept! We did our best to explain the ingredients and effects clearly, but a tutorial would definitely have helped with clarity.  We found a few bugs related to missing the burger after we submitted, but the team would definitely like to work at least a bit more on the game so we can fix those and add a bit more content/ploish.

Fun! Could be more girly since it's a girly jam but I really liked the mechanics!

Developer(+1)

Definitely! We were looking at games like Cook Serve Delicious, but we started running away from it as time started running out haha.

I had fun with this game! Definitely surprisingly complex with all the multipliers, but still maintained an aspect of fun with the silly combinations, ingredients and positions you could stack haha. I think some SFX would make it even more fun hehe. The controls were responsive too, I didn't feel like it was "unfair" where my layer was stacked after I pressed spacebar.

Developer(+1)

I am so glad you liked it! The game is essentially a card builder disguised as a cooking game, so we can really stand on the shoulders of giants and borrow some mechanics from other roguelike card builders. We plan on working on the game at least a bit more so we can get it to a more finished state, so SFX and music are already on the list!

the artstyle is very nostalgic... wait, coffee beans? D:

Developer(+1)

Yes WE love coffee beans on our burger.

Submitted(+1)

very cool art & surprisingly challenging gameplay!

Developer(+1)

Uncle Sams did an amazing job on the assets! We tried to subvert expectations a bit and add a bit more depth than you would expect from a simple stacking game, so I am glad you enjoyed it!

having to strategically stack ingredients to rack up points is a really clever concept! shame you couldn't get the music in time because it's really groovy! though i'll be honest i have a hard time finding a connection with the girly theme haha

Developer

thanks Voxy! Geisha did an amazing job with the music for sure!! honestly, in hindsight i would have made the art a bit girlier but we did what we could!

Submitted(+1)

still very cool though :) i found the weirder ingredients really funny, wonder what a cheeky jalapeno-coffee-grapefruit burger would taste like LOL

Submitted(+2)

Strategic twist on a stacking game, having to choose the ingredients based on their qualities!

Really cool art style! Now I'm hungry...

I feel like there was some system where you want to place things in a specific order, but I couldn't figure it out. Otherwise was very nice!
