Inspired by large-scale disaster movies, PANIC TOWER 48 focuses on watching hundreds of people react dynamically while you try to guide them to safety.

Hello everyone!

I'm looking for a few people to playtest my game, PANIC TOWER 48.

It is a high-rise evacuation and crowd panic simulation where hundreds of people react to fire, smoke, damaged stairs, elevator failures, flooding, and changing escape routes.

You can actively manage the evacuation, or simply watch the disaster unfold in Observation Mode.

Current features:

- 8, 20 and 48 floor scenarios

- Fire and smoke propagation

- Elevator management

- Stair damage and blocked routes

- Fire barriers

- Flooding

- Rooftop evacuation

- Seed-based scenario variation

Platform:

Windows 10 / 11

Play time:

10–15 minutes for the first session.

I'm mainly looking for feedback on:

- Was it interesting to watch?

- Were the controls easy to understand?

- What was confusing?

- What became repetitive?

- Would you play it again?

Game page:

https://screenmateworks.itch.io/panic-tower-48

Thank you very much!

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Hi screenmateworks! PANIC TOWER 48 sounds interesting, and I would be happy to test a 10–15 minute Windows session and give you structured feedback on clarity, controls, what was confusing, repetition, and whether I would play again.

I am also preparing the first external test of Dino Frontier RPG v0.11, an early 2D top-down dinosaur adventure with exploration, gathering, crafting, combat, and bonding with a Raptor companion. My test is an uncoached 15–30 minute Windows playthrough up to the “First Bond” milestone.

The build is in English, uses keyboard and mouse, and creates a local report with four short questions. Nothing is uploaded automatically and no personal information is requested. It is an unsigned prototype, so Windows may show an unknown-publisher warning.

Would you be interested in a reciprocal playtest? I would be glad to test PANIC TOWER 48 first, then send you a private access link to my build.

Hi Lillefot, thank you! I’d be very happy to do a reciprocal playtest.

PANIC TOWER 48 can now be played directly in the browser, so no installation is required. I’d really appreciate your honest feedback on the controls, clarity, confusing parts, repetition, and whether you would want to play again.

After you’ve tested PANIC TOWER 48, please send me the private access link for Dino Frontier RPG. I’d be happy to play through the opening and give you feedback in return.

Thanks again — I’m looking forward to hearing what you think!

Hi screenmateworks, PANIC TOWER 48 sounds like a strong candidate for structured playtesting, particularly because you already have clear questions about controls, confusion, repetition and replayability.

I’m a solo developer from South Africa and recently built Iconic Nexus, a new platform intended to help indie developers run testing campaigns and exchange useful feedback. Testers earn credits by helping with other projects, and developers can use credits to get feedback on their own work.

It’s still a new and currently small platform, but I’m looking for a few founding developers to help test and improve the process. If you’re interested, I’d be happy to help you create a project and campaign for PANIC TOWER 48 personally.

Hi screenmateworks! I just finished a full run of the 8-floor Standard scenario. I rescued 40 out of 64 people and ended with Rank C.

The part I enjoyed most was seeing the situation change after routes became dangerous or closed. Redirecting people felt meaningful, and the decision trace made it clear that my orders were actually affecting the outcome. The automatic slowdown when an important warning appeared was also a really helpful touch.

The floor selection and route commands became easy to understand after the first order, but the interface felt quite overwhelming at the beginning. There are several panels competing for attention, and I wasn’t immediately sure whether I should focus on the building, the next-action prompt, the decision board, the event log, or the fire-door controls. The next-action prompts were probably the most useful guide during my first run.

I also noticed what may be a scenario-data issue. The game page recommends starting with the 8-floor scenario, but the start window initially selected 48 floors. After choosing 8 floors, the “This Run” information still mentioned places such as 48F, 29F, B1 and B2. That made me wonder whether I had selected the correct scenario.

The event log also repeated the same stair-closing warning almost every second. Grouping repeated warnings or showing a counter could make important new events easier to notice.

I didn’t find the 8-floor run repetitive. I would play again to try another seed and improve my score. The results screen was especially good: it clearly explained what went wrong and gave me a strong reason to attempt another run.

Thanks for letting me test it! I have the Dino Frontier RPG access ready as well. Since this forum reply is public, what private contact method would you prefer for the access link?

Hi! I have your unique private itch.io access link ready, but Reddit currently shows “Unable to message this account” when I try to contact u/screenmateworks. Could you please send a chat request to u/Possible_Cabinet1063, or double-check the username? As soon as we have a working private channel, I’ll send the link there. Thanks!

Reddit chat still isn't working on my account.
If you use X/Twitter, please send the private itch.io access link to me by DM there instead.
