No, I used a sfx pack from itch.io. I included attribution in a credits scene.

How did you incorporate the theme "UNSTABLE"?
I decided to use the idea of a falling building that you have to stabilize.

Congratulations on your first game! I scored 36 seconds.

It's a decent game, I liked the game being simple and fun. I think this is what it needs to be a jam game. And congrts about your first game! I Made my first game too, I would love to see you there

simple and fun:) I'm stupid, I didn't get exactly what to do around couple minutes ( yeah, naming didn't help me)
anyway, I made 14 seconds

Quick, fun and easy to understand, perfect for a game jam! My best time was 23 seconds. Great work :)

its fun but im not good at typing so i always get to 18 seconds

Really fun little typing game, I liked how simple it is but still kinda pulls you in. The theme fit is nice too. I agree that some background music and a few extra sound cues would make it feel way more lively, like a lil ding when you get a word right or a funny blip when you mess up. The idea has good potential and with some polish it could become a really addictive score chaser. Nice work on this one. (pls play my game)

Nothing quite like a simple typing game, and you somehow managed to make it fit the theme quite well. I would say though, that it could use some background music, and maybe a few more sound effects. Otherwise, good work.

I think it's nice for a first game jam! My suggestion would be to polish further on the visuals/user feedback! Like, whenever a player types the word in time, there's a bell that goes "Ding!", and if they press the wrong key, an "engk" sound pops out, those kinds of small things that make the game feel a bit more immersive...! I also see this has potential for a leaderboard where players can see each other's scores and try to get the highest one. With more polishing, this game has the potential to be great! nice job

simple Skill builder game!
wouldn't call it fun! but has a lot of potential to go in the skills route

I’ll be honest, but this is your first game, and it’s normal that it has a lot of problems — especially since it’s your first game right at the jam, that’s serious. Maybe the idea is cool, and it fits the theme. But the implementation is poor:

1. We need more different words, and we also need to make sure they don’t repeat too often.

2. We need some music — any music you can find online will do, it’s important.

1. Few people have this at all, but a beautiful and responsive UI is also important — buttons, the main menu, the pause menu.

This is just a small part of what I could help with. I wish you luck in game development, keep making games; I’ve only made my third project myself.

I’ll be glad if you play my game and leave feedback!

Really simple, quite fun. Somehow I can’t survive for much longer than 20 seconds XD. And I type for most of the day, guess I need alot more practice lol, great job!

Great idea to use words to balance out the tower. Some levels to break up the leaning would have been cool, maybe starting on 3 letter words, then progressing onwards to bigger and bigger word count. Hit the unstable mark and it was fun, nice job!

Very cute take on the unstable theme. Makes me realize how much I need to learn to touch type haha! Good stuff.

Check out my game if you get a chance 😊.

This is fun. This is why I love game jams. The game is so simple but still fun.

I would suggest to make more into a game by adding a balancing mechanic: the player gets 2 words one for left and one for right. Then he has to choose depending on the direction the tower is falling. you could even make the force the tower is pushed in depend on the word length. so when the player types a long word the tower got a have push in one direction.

Keep up the good work :)

love a typing test! I loved how it lulled you into a false sense of security in the beginning with nice easy short words before they got longer all of a sudden. Great fun :)

Submitted

Interesting game. Fairly addictive. I would have done better but I kept hitting enter after each word (out of habit) and that messed me up for the next word lol
Good job on the game.

Now I know, I am so bad at typing. Nice job! 👍

Submitted

I didn't know I was so bad at typing "balance" lol. Nice job on this!

ha, this is a nice use of the theme. Ever since I first played Typing of the Dead I always wished there was more games that explored that mechanic. I enjoyed this and difficulty progression felt pretty fair!

I loved this! Super simple mechanic but still so engaging. Typing with a time pressure is always a good time! Had me playing quite a few times to try and get a higher score.
