First without any hesitates to say
This games
Looks absolutely amazing without doubt!!
The glitch
The 2d art of the ( ghost? ) talk at you
And 3d model at Chess
Looks absolutely amazing!!
And story is pretty interesting too
My main problem
Is game Dosen't explain to you gameplay again if you didn't get the first time
Chess boat have same colors.. Same with other chess
Which Can be pretty confusing to know which one is yours
Or which one ghost
If you get lost at least
So
You should probably add different colors for Chess to make it clear
add game over text at game over
Would make it both clear
And maybe even better too
And I not big fan of Chess
And not know how to play chess
I think it was important to keep where ghost explained to player
If player ( like me ) Didn't get the first time
( Especially when they either never.. Or barely play chess before )
But regardless
Good job for making this game jam !!! ๐ ๐ ๐
Thank you for the kind words, and the helpful feedback. Making the ships different colors is a super helpful idea that completely slipped my mind! I'll definitely go add that in. I will also add a way to ask the creature to repeat the rules.
As for the game over / victory screens, for this game I was not a fan of how a Game Over text or Victory text looked. I think the context of the game should be enough to indicate you have won or lost, especially once I make the ships different colors. I will make sure to make the retry / replay buttons more explicitly obvious, which I think will be more helpful.
Again, thanks for the feedback. And, thanks for playing! :)
You're welcome!!!
neat game. Very cool
thank you! :3
I love the art style, i somehow won 3 times in a row on my first try. the environment is nice. great submission!
Thanks for playing, and the nice comments! I tried to balance the creature to be nontrivial to play against, but also not perfectly optimal all the time. Maybe I need to pull back on some of its nerfs, lol. :)
