The art style and game idea is AMAZING! At the end it says "call for help", is it actually possible? Because the telephone didn't work for me :)
The end screen sadly didn't make it into the build on time. But congratulations, if you got to the call for help task and interacted with the phone, you finished the game successfully!
That is an amazing concept!
As others I was also stuck with the "Lull Zach to sleep", "Wash the pillow" and "Call for help" tasks which was a real shame because I think the games visuals and general vibes incorporate the theme of the game very well.
You can drop the pillow by pressing F i think for those who got stuck with it
Tried it. But it didn't work for me :o
It's actually the G key. Damn it, I forgot to add the button prompt
Loved the art style and vibe of your game! I ran into similar issues as some other commentators where I picked up the pillow out of order and had to restart the game. Nice jam!
I'm always really amazed when someone makes a 3D and yours looks amazing!
I think you really nailed the feeling of beeing stressed out and tired! I think I need to go to bed now :D
Great job!
I was also stuck on the Lull Zach to sleep part on my first try but was able to discover the item after reloading and wandering around the level for a bit haha. I was confused at the end with Call for Help though but I guess you said in one of the comment it didn’t got finished in time.
Overall I think it’s not too bad. I would have liked to see that it was clearer what items were interactable (and maybe some sort of hints of how to solve the task) so players wouldn’t get confused. I would say it would be especially important because right at the beginning when the players are met with the annoying phone call sound. I know it’s probably annoying on purpose but I would try to alleviate player’s frustration with the game. Also failing the blinking didn’t seem to actually affect the game?
The visual is not bad at all though.
Overall a cool idea, would love to see more polish on the execution.
I really like the artstyle, it makes the game really stand out! Got a bit stuck on lulling the baby, but the comment section came to rescue :D Great work!
This is a really well made and awesome game! I would add a section in the games description of how the controls work because some stuff aren’t that clear. But then again, i have to say the implementation of the theme is great, and the topic is great. Its a really good game!
Thank you very much!
I really enjoyed the art style! I think having hints as to "how" to complete some of the tasks might be good. I also got stuck at the "lul Zac to sleep". Also when I picked up the pillow before feeding Zac I couldn't put it down again to pick up his milk.
Hey there, thank you very much for the feedback!
Unfortunately the entire task/quest system was done in the last hour of the game jam ^^ You can drop the item you're currently carrying by pressing "G" but we forgot to add the button prompt...
very nice aristic style!
unfortunately, i got stuck at the "Lull Zach to Sleep" point. The game would not allow me to interact with the baby.
And I was able to pick up the pillow but then nothing
hi, you actually have to interact with the music box on the cubboard in the room :)
oh nice!
but now again I am kinda stuck again with "Press E to Call For Help"
Sorry, I REALLY want to play this game; looks and feels super nice (╥‸╥) (╥﹏╥)
or maybe i am not understanding something
You actually got to the end of our little demo, great job! The idea is that you end the game by using the telephone to call family/friends or mental health professionals for help, so interacting with the telephone at the end would reveal the "victory" screen which we weren't able to implement on time.
ohhh noooo!
i would have LOVED to see it in full! :) :) :)
Hi there! Thanks for the kind words.
Lull Zach to Sleep only works by winding up the music box in the bed room. You can only interact with the baby when you're carrying the milk. The task system was done last minute and the hints aren't perfectly clear. Picking up the pillow allows you to start the wash machine once that is your highest-priority task.
It’s great that you addressed this topic in a game. I was there. People who aren’t parents can’t imagine how exhausting the first few months with a child can be.
Thank you! We tried really hard to find a unique interpretation of the theme that would resonate well with a selected group (parents) and then took it a step further by integrating aspects of postpartum psychosis. Unfortunately, many of our wildest ideas were only 50% done and didn't make it into the build.
