This has such a children’s storybook quality, and I mean that in a very complimentary way- the cadence and the humor hit just right and kept me delighted as the story bounced along. I am utterly charmed!

this was a fun game with a great narrative! loved the little sprite bounces and the pixelated bgs and textbox! i wish sir quilliam and sofia many more happy breakfasts together <3
It was a really good game. I didn't see any faults or what was wrong because I'm not a professional VN developer, but my expectations were pretty low. I thought the game would be huge and have useless dialogues, but honestly, the game turned out way better than I expected. I often try games from popular game jams which are usually overrated. Your game wasn't that big, the narrative was really good, the sprites were great, and overall my experience was excellent. Keep Doing
Oh I love the little hops and shakes the sprites did that was such a fun detail that added a lot of personality to the game. I think if you wanted to refine it for the future I would draw the sprites a little taller so you dont see where they crop at the bottom when they bounce. I also really loved the pixel style UI! For the choice boxes the green moss made the black text a little hard to read but I LOVED the blooming flowers when you hovered over them that was so CUTEEEE! The writing was also very fun, I love a good fourth wall break and I found the characters very endearing! The knight's style of talking even when he was scared frieddddd me LMAO Really enjoyed your entry!
Oh this was so cute! I love Sir Quilliam and how pompous he is - 'I shalln't' got me so bad :D There was clearly so much love put into this. The writing is efficient (or 'economic' as my lecturers would say) and works perfectly for a fast-paced little adventure into the dragon's lair.
I appreciate there was only 10 days, so I understand that some parts aren't as polished. I think with some more time, it would have been worth adding audio and proof-reading to make the dialogue technically solid, but you've done an amazing job!
What a fun little experience. The sprites are so charmingly presented and their expressions conveyed so much. The little jumps of motion added a very tactile response when progressing through dialogue/the narrative as a whole, very satisfying. The relationship which developed between the pair was very cute! I only wished I could have experienced more of it. And I can't forget to give props on the incredibly creative solution to backgrounds. Simple in presentation but such a firm artistic choice which does just enough to present a location without detracting from the characters. What would have really brought it all together would be sound of some kind, whimsical music, wolf snarling, eggs sizzling on a pan, etc. really anything.
I will say the dialogue box and text were a little too incongruous, for me, with the rest of the style presented. The pixel art is great but was distracting when juxtaposed with the smooth brush strokes of the backgrounds and the soft forms of the characters. Speaking of, I would have liked a little more on Sofia's character. We get a pretty good understanding of Quilliam right out of the gate, but the motives for Sofia weren't clear. He wants to slay her and be a big hero but she saves him from the wolf and his sprained ankle - why? If he really has tried and failed 7 times, was it pity? had they interacted before like this? Just stuff that I was thinking about during my play through.
Great work! I had a blast! :)
