Really cool take on the theme! Here’s my Quick Playtest.
I love the idea of literally building a city toward its tipping point. The voxel look works really well too, and then I saw you made this in Three.js with a custom voxel renderer… for a jam?! That’s awesome.
One thing I’d probably work on a little more is the building placement/readability in 3D. Sometimes it was a little hard to judge exactly where something was going to end up. A stronger placement preview or some kind of depth/grid indicator could make it easier to intentionally build while still keeping the chaos of everything tipping over.
I also really like that the city starts feeling more ridiculous and unstable the longer you survive. It fits the theme perfectly.
Really clever concept. Nice job!
Not really my kind of game but I'm sure tons of people would like it!
I'd appreciate it if you could check my game and leave a rating :) /jam/bezi-jam-13/rate/4935244
Really great execution. The clean design and simple mechanics show so much skill. Awesome job!
When dragging to aim, the cubes prioritize going upwards, making it tough to close the gaps (I really tried to fill them!). I made it through quite a few days, but noticed there weren't any events like earthquakes. Maybe survival could be tied to how solid your build is? Cool game overall, congrats and well done! my best score 84k
The mechanics is very polished and works really nicely to make the difficulty balance just right. The art is top notch and there is not much to complain about. Great job on the game!
Did you google Bitwig btw: https://www.bitwig.com/
Here I did it for you now stop spreading misinformation about my game.
Absolutely love the game - I think the areas I could see it benefitting is a bit more clarity on buildable area on the initial cylinder would be nice along with seeing what you can do to make it more clear where to move your mouse to get it to move in the direction you want since it becomes a little difficult in 3d to get it placed where you want. Also is there a way to rotate the blocks as well? I would love that feature too, though I can totally see not having it to further constrain the play space as well. Those are all just nitpicks though, it is great overall.
The game dragged on and the visuals and gameplay seemed very interesting, probably a better game than the whole jam
A question, do you know the whole point of Bezi jams? This is the 4th one I took part in since last August, a year ago.
I don't see why you have to say "it's a shame" if you have other things you genuinely like, and I am super thankful you like them, seriously. But what gives? I've been making games for almost a decade long before any of that kinda stuff existed, submitted to 50+ gamejams over that time, And if anything the current climate is a boon to solo devs and tiny teams, they aren't the naysayers with industry clout or the big gamedev youtubers or influencers who are afraid of losing influence.
I'm happier making games nowadays than I was 5 years ago. Instead of spending 18 months doing every single skill as a solo dev (I still do most of them) now I can iterate on a reasonably deep game in 1-3 weeks and see if it's fun before committing to even close to that level of investment. And for those that spend that long, the median game revenue on steam in 2026 is sub 200 USD, could probably make more money mowing lawns for a weekend than betting on a game you are not sure of succeeding for 2 years. Might be a wild take to you but this stuff is genuinely more helpful to the little guys than it is the corporations, and yet the stigmas lead to tribalism in bashing the little guys.
A bit of a rant but thank you for the comment!
Yeah, I definitely see where you're coming from, and I agree that AI can be a useful tool for solo devs and small teams, I think we just view game jams a little differently. Personally, one of the main reasons I participate in jams is to improve my own skills, especially programming and game design, so I don't really see making the entire game with AI as accomplishing that goal for me. That's just my personal reason for avoiding it though, and I don't mean to tell other people how they should participate.
Regardless, your game is genuinely really fun, and honestly one of the best I've played in the jam. I wish you the best with your next projects!
