there were really interesting mechanics here I liked most of them, but they all look cool.
the hitboxes for the skull and the player probably need some tweaking, but I played a fair bit, and it is doable.
I think the abilities are awesome looking and the visuals with the lights and the way you incorporated it was awesome
maybe making the crow spell reusable and maybe adding a spell for environmental protection would be nice too you just have to figure out a way to limit them
overall, a very cool looking game
I thought it was cute, but the hitboxes on certain environments felt off, and I found it hard to tell what tile I was on due to the same tile being repeated over and over, making it hard to dodge the red spike guys.
I liked it! But I agree with the others that the spells controls were a bit awkward and the spells are not so clearly communicated. I mean visually when you use the protective spell for instance, it's not clear where exactly the boundary is.
The red gravestones reminded me of Dark Souls blood splatters -- are they actually or are they random? :)
Theme song was great! The bird spell looked awesome just wish i could use it more
Kind of echoing other players, I personally felt like the controls were a bit awkward, and I didn't feel like the spells made a ton of sense to me. I liked the artwork and the inclusion of the dog :)
A fun and short little session. The amount of buttons to keep track off was a little confusing at first. After I got a hang of it, I had fun :)
If you ever wanna do an update: I think the hitbox on the trees is a bit off.
The music was great. I really loved how the music changes when you activate the birdsplosion. The controls felt a little awkward, I wish there was a way to remap them. Great game!
I liked having the first level help you figure out the controls. I wasn’t sure how to charge my abilities, but I could use them. I wanted the dog to be more active. I was getting destroyed on level 3 and the dog was happily just sitting next to me without a care in the world. Nice work on your first game!
I can tell you put a lot of work into this! Art is cute and there's a surprising variety of enemies. Pretty unforgiving after level 3 or so.
