How does the game fit the theme?
You are a cat. You trust no one. You've been left to man.. CAT! the shop while the Man-ager is away. You've seen those purrloiners stealing from other stores, who can trust any of the customers here? Catch the thieves in the act with a good ol' claw, and serve the customers who are queueing like good trustworthy citizens.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All code, art, and audio was made by us. Some Easter eggs were included from our previous jam submissions.

How many people worked on the game?

I LOVE this game! The art is so cute, the animations are great, and the sound effects and hits feel so satisfying. And the character designs are SO GOOD!! Everyone feels really distinct and memorable.

The balance is honestly perfect too—you can’t just stare at everyone the whole time, but you also can’t just sit at the register and ignore everything else 😭 I was constantly running back and forth trying to keep up with everything.

I literally couldn’t stop playing lol

This is by one of my favorites in this jam so far and I've played over like 50 games. The way the dog waddles off after being scratched made me cackle EVERY time. Super charming world, super interesting idea, I loved it a lot!!! If y'all made it into a full game one day.. I would definitely get it :D

Super cute! Really liked the dog animation- "that dog DEFINITELY stole something". Admittedly scratching people right off the bat was fun. Good balance of having to keep an eye on everyone and also cashing out.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! The dog looking so offended is so funny. We wanted an incentive to not camp the door, so the register needed to be important :)

This is a fantastic entry. The art is adorable, the gameplay is addictive, and I want ALL the upgrades! I almost couldn't stop playing, it's that good!

Thank you so much for your kind words!

THE CAT. THE ATTITUDE OF THE CAT. I'm in love with his bossy face, look at him he's in charge!

This game is so cute, I struggled a bit to understand when people were stealing from the shop, but everything else looks really good and polished. That's a very good work, keep it up ^^

Developer(+2)

Thank you! I love the cat so much! We wanted to try and avoid the player from accusing every customer, but it ended up being quite hard to distinguish the purrloiners some times. Making it easy but also a challenge was a struggle!

This game was really fun, I enjoyed the art style and it has a lot of personality. Good stuff yall!

Great game! I was happy to see how familiar it is to our game love the art and theming it's really cute.

I love it

Developer

Thank you! Very excited to play your game!

Great game! It has a lot of potential and is really addictive — definitely worth continuing to develop. Toward the end, though, it became a bit difficult to hit the right character and tell them apart when there were a lot of them. Maybe by that point there could be two exits or something similar. But overall, the game is really great!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! The multiple exits was considered but unfortunately we ran out of time to do it! We tried to figure out the best way to get the right customer if they were on top of each other but it was sadly a lot of luck involved. Scoped a bit too much!

that was sooooo awesome!!! loved every second of it. i wonder how you did the shadows on the isles, i failed to add shadows to our games maze hedges without occluding the hedge itself (also godot) :’D

anyways thank you for this banger

Developer(+1)

Thanks very much!

It was my first time doing line of sight like this too so it took some figuring out. The technique was a bit convoluted, but If you're interested , it was

Ray trace from the player to all the corners -> make a Polygon2D from the results -> add to a SubViewport. Then you can feed the SubViewport's texture into a shader to lighten or darken the ground.

holy moly! thank you i shall experiment :)

Very wholesome. Friggin love the animations and had a lot of fun playing. Much love.

Developer

Thank you so much! The animators did great yet again!

EXCELLENT! Very polished, looks great, sounds great, playing as the guard in a stealth game is inspired. Perhaps the puns are a tad overwritten. WELL DONE FIVE STARS!!!

Developer

Thank you so much! We did go a little bananas with the puns haha
