the graphics with these low quality 3d and pixelated people are amazing! i think the only problem is that the 2d sprites and their animations are a bit clunky, but this is a really nice game!

I love what you did with the pixelated people. Also, that alibi pronounciation was so funny! I absolutely loved how you injected emotions into the characters by using pixelated people. Story and dialogue is also fleshed out well.  THE ENDING IS WRITTEN SO WELL YOU BROKE THE FOURTH WALL!!!! I was so invested in the game and you made it so well! The ending makes it so worth it! I love this style!!

Loved the game, the visuals are give a good vibe + give a bit of nostalgic feelings too. I didn't played it for long cus of small time but the game kinda reminded me of Phoenix Wright game. Also I noticed a few bugs you may or may not know about:

  • if you walk up diagonally the sprite flips (up + right shows the left up walking animation and up + left shows the right one)
  • the player's head will show behind the lamp on the upper floor

Really liked the art style of the game and especially the pixilated people. Chefs kiss

unique and simple entry to the jam. really fleshed out story as well

Really cool visuals, and the people acting out the emotions / feelings with the conversation was very charming. I accidentally clicked through some conversation a few times and missed some stuff, so it might be nice to have two clicks than just one (though I know some people aren't into more clicking..) It was an interesting game!

love the art style

Suuuper unique game, and really fleshed outfor only a 7-day development.

The dialogue and characters were pretty cool (the bodybuilder was really funny lmao) and the story was simple but effective. Without going into spoilers, I guessed the murderer quite early, but the final twist caught me completely off guard and I liked it a lot!

The dialogue boxes and talking sprites are really cool as well, and the isometric view is really unique, although the overworld sprites are somewhat rough in my opinion.

Overall, super cool and unique entry, actually got quite invested, kudos to the team!

Developer

Hi! Thank you very much for your feedback, which is very appreciated!

On the proper release, we will definitely work on the overworld sprites and the font of the dialogues.

We're very glad at least some of the twists got you, lol.

Thanks so much for playing our game!

super unique, I had a good time. this was a vibe. I had a nice espresso martini, that was a non-negroniatiable. song got a bit repetive over time, might be good to have it cut out for some of the dialogue maybe. It was really nice to have the notes to be able to reference them and not need to memorize a bagillion things.

Developer

Thank you so much for your feedback! Very glad you enjoyed our first game.

Very good point on the music, we wanted to make it longer and add more different songs for different interactions, but didn't have enough time. On our final release, we will definitely have more music!

Hope the negroni was amaze :)

Wow, I love the atmosphere and the interesting art style of the game which I've never seen before! The game really well to the theme, really cool plot twist too. I'm not really an expert at storylines, so I can't provide much feedback on that, but it was engaging for me. This is very good work for 7 days. I quite like how the objectives lead you to the end of the story on a path, I just wish I could talk to the characters even if they were not part of the objective.

Developer

Hi! thank you very much for your feedback. Very happy you enjoyed our first game!

We are planning a full release with a lot more interactions that arent directly related to objectives, but since we only had 7 days, we were a bit stuck on time. So if you really liked the game, do keep posted!

Wild graphics, but I kind of liked them. The photos of the characters was a fun choice, too!

Cool execution and an interesting concept; the vibe reminded me a bit of "Disco Elysium".

Here’s what I felt was missing:
1. A long backstory with no option to skip it.
2. Interactive objects aren't highlighted visually, making it unclear what to do on the map intuitively.
3. The story is interesting, in my opinion, but the characters lacked motivation, it wasn't clear why they were there, other than just being added to the game for the sake of it.
4. If the characters had been as well-developed as the environment (which, by the way, has an amazing atmosphere, you really want to hang out and explore it), the game would have ranked very high in the jam.

Overall, it’s a solid project, especially considering it was made in just a week for the jam. it’s excellent! That said, I would have liked a bit more feedback from the game itself. You guys did a great job; you worked hard and delivered a worthy result! Keep it up!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback, glad you caught on to the Disco Elysium inspo!

For the final release (when we have less of a time crunch), we will definitely add a lot of the feedback you've given, we really appreciate it!

Tbh i couldn't play more than 4 min, the pixels movement from the background is gives me a headache. The first dialogs should be skipable.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback.

For the final release of the game, we definitely want to smooth out the pixel movement, so I understand your concerns with that.

Thanks anyway!

(was playing HTML version)

The game visuals are nice and have a good atmosphere.

  • I think it would have been better to have the dialogue with characters drawn in a style similar to the game (I know it might be a limitation, as you did use some public-domain assets). The video characters look like some cheap 90s video disc game (unless that was the vibe you were going for).
  • I got soft-locked as "Try and complete your task" but forgot what that was; maybe an add-task reminder could be useful.
  • In the intro, the text would look better with a background panel.

Lots of potential and good stuff in the game; well done.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing! Glad you enjoyed.

The font and background in the intro were definitely something we wanted in pixel art; we just ran out of time.  We were going for a cheap '90s look, but we can definitely work on refining it for the final release.

Thanks again!

Adding to the previous reply, we do have an objective tracker and notebook that has useful information, thinking it should have been visible by default with the bind to hide/show still there.

Thank you for the great feedback!

This is like the best game of this jam so far. I loved the visuals and the music . You did a really good job writing a cool mystery. Best game lol

Developer

Hi! Thank you so very much for the high praise! Very much appreciated!!!

If possible, please remove the twist part at the end just in case someone reads it before playing 😭🙏🏼

Ill hide the spoiler lol
