How does the game fit the theme?
You trusted your online friend and downloaded a game from a fishy website (which you shouldn't have). For some reason, the download button asked you to accept terms and conditions and you accepted it. Now you will pay consequences.
There is also game inside your computer in which you need to find correct houses not trusting the people in red shirt
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
I will be adding their links in the description

Before I leave this review, i want you to know I rated you well in most categories other than gameplay. I'm going to be straightforward in this review because that's why we jam. You have great instincts as a dev and every sentence I write here comes with nothing but love.
I didn't finish it. I got to the start of day 4 and between the slow walk speed and repetitive tasks - I couldn't continue. You set a fantastic atmosphere w the drone sound, dog barking, and the vignette were great touches.
You definitely write clean code. I messed with the trash bags a lot to entertain myself and they didn't break!
The narrative was on point too. Like, this has the potential to be a great horror game.
The issue main issue, in my opinion, is that all of this anxiety was building up but there was never any release. The drone just kept building and building and the first hint of release I got was the YOU'RE NEXT YOU'RE NEXT prompts which was pretty cool.
I'd recommend popping in your favorite horror movie and paying attention to the give and take, the buildup and release etc. A lot of people think those "jumpscare in the medicine cabinet" scenes are stupid, but they're an important part of tension release. Without the release, the buildup is exhausting.
Great work on the project as a whole. This just wasn't the game for me. And that's okay. Nobody can ever make a game that pleases everyone. What I can appreciate though is just how much effort you put into this. That is why I have taken as much time as I have to write this out for you.
Way to make it to the finish line!
The environment is definitly good, the rubling drone sound, the silence of the house with only the steps sounds was really on point for the horror genre. This game is great just for the fact I was REALLY scared for 'no' reason and the character just being 'ignorant' about it was so frustrating(in a good way). The only problems are that in the browser version, escaping from the computer always escapes from the full screen, making it quite bad since you have to do it many times. Would be nice to just have an in screen button to go back. I noted the little apparitions of the strange guy from time to time, it was suble so not sure if I crafted it myself, but it was enough to add up to the anxiety. I was a bit annoyed by the steps sound because it was always the same and the volume was pretty high, without being able to change it. The same for the 'typing' sound, same pitch, high volume repeated kind of was bad. About the finale:
SPOILER ALERT!!
I felt it was a bit rushed out, the anxiety given by the game was kind of truncated by the cutscene. It would have been good making the player choose to turn back or if it didn't do it, force it or make a second apparition.
Overall really good game! Good job!
This is a good one! I loved the vignette and all the house objects, nice work!
Hi !
Your game is really nice. I love the lore, the story being based on daily life stuff a lot of people share makes it easy to immerse yourself in the plot. I'm impressed by the place you've managed to build in such a short time ! The computer screen is fun too and the work you did with shadows, sfx and ambient sound works well for that too. Your UI is incredibly good too, it looks very professional !
I just noticed a few technical things (maybe due to the fact I'm playing in a browser on Linux), like the camera sometimes getting stuck, not being able to pick the newspaper at the start (I think the detection area may be a bit too small ?)
You asked feedback to polish your game so here are a few ideas but don't take this as criticism, your game is super-good considering it's been made in 7 days !
- The camera sometimes gets "blocked", like you can look a bit left and right but not make a full circle. It occurs especially in/after the stairs.
- For web-builds, using "Esc." is a bad idea because it also closes the full-screen mode and sometimes causes bugs or the game may lose focus, the camera if it follows the mouse like in your game can become very erratic (I made the same mistake in my initial build and replaced "Esc" by "Tab"). But that is very specific to web builds, if you're planning to issue a paid game maybe you won't really care.
- I usually play with low light on my computer (it burns my eyes as I spend most of my time here) --> it was sometimes difficult to see the objects in game due to the very dark lights/shadows. I would use desat' colors and/or some lights (not-bright, small, to keep the atmosphere you built so well) in places where you need player to see/do things.
- Maybe an auto-read system for the dialogue and a pause menu but I think you know that ^^
- A music loop that or music pieces that change every day would have improved my experience I think, but I get it other players may prefer no music and more focus on ambient sounds and sfx. It's also an interesting way to do things so I'm not sure about this last advice.
The Vibe is really cool! Also love the Visuals a lot! Great work!
However I couldn't play the Game inside the Computer. I don't know if it's a bug or if I was just incompetent
Thanks for the feedback. I fixed it
That dog scared me so many times hahaha
I really liked the atmosphere and art style of the game too
I'll definitely play it again if you extend the story!
The game right now is not really polished, so I will be taking the next month to polish it and make it a full version with 5-8 days
4:20 yeaaaaaaaaaaah !!!
Nice game, keep going !!
