Epic fights and drama. This game was an amazing experience. I totally got JJK flashbacks during the fights. Too much fun. Cool game.

This is truly one of the greatest jam entries I’ve ever experienced. It’s absolutely amazing  everything about it feels so amazing. The epicness, the drama, the fun, and most importantly, Millie, all of it came together perfectly. Honestly, this is exactly the kind of game I dream of making someday.

I just have one question, do you think it’s possible to create something epic like this in 2D? can 2d give such 🔥experience?  after seeing it on the livestream and then playing it myself, I was blown away. It was simply epic.

Thanks for the praise, it really means a lot!!

Warning ⚠️ big yap incoming⚠️

To answer your question, yes it's definitely possible to do something similar in 2D just way more time consuming. Even this project, start to end, took me almost 2 months, most of it dedicated to the fight animations, and that's with 3D animation, where camera shots and dynamic movements are much easier and quicker to do. Imo, the most feasable way to do it would be a hybrid approach with 3d backgrounds and 2d characters. That's just for the fight scenes though. You can totally achieve the cinematic vibe entirely with 2D of you want, with the help of proper pacing, composition and build up and by "proper", I don't mean that you have to be an expert or anything. I myself am anything but an expert, as this was my first time doing something like this aswell. I just had ideas that I iterated on until I felt it was acceptable so yeah just try your hand at it. Also references are very important. For example I really wanted the last fight especially to have an "anime edit" type of feel, so that's where I took references from, with a few shots directly referencing some JJK shots. So take all the references and inspirations you can get. Also if you ever want to know about the workflow of exporting cutscenes from blender to unity do lmk(on discord) I would be happy to help cause there wasn't really all that much information on that so I had to figure it out with trial and error

Yoo, thank you so much for replying! It’s a huge relief to hear that it took you two months, cuz I was scratching my head wondering how you made this in just two weeks for the jam. I seriously thought you must have been working 16-17 hours a day! I’ll definitely give it a try in 2D. As for 3D, I downloaded Blender a year ago and still haven't learned how to use it, it looks incredibly hard, and my mind just blanks whenever I see a mesh. I'll surely be annoying you on Discord whenever I run into trouble with it! Thank you very much.🐱

This is peak fiction. This is actually better then some movies I've seen. I really wan't to learn how unity's cinemachine works now. I have nothing else to say, just awesome.

Great game, Keep it up ❤︎

Haha thanks!!! The title card was kindof a lie tho, there is one more thing that I love, Blender. While all the dialoge cutscenes were made with cinemachine, the fights scenes, including camera work, were animated in blender and then exported into unity.

Also thanks for playing!!
