The shader is super unique, a little more in the gameplay would have been nice but its such a short game jam that its more than understandable. Well done getting this out in time.
Thank you !
Okay bro, you've really got a feel for the style. The game's visuals are 10/10.
Thank you ! Even if i worked a lot on the shader, it did not turn as good as I wanted, but i got something !
Game is really fun and addicting. Limitation is spot on and i love the concept and presentation.
The shader gives a very interesting style to the visuals. The actual gameplay is quite sparse, some audio feedback or extra visual cues when hitting the enemy would make it a little more engaging, but I see that this was mainly an experiment to use shaders. The visuals communicate "heat" but don't think they really give off "flames".
Thank you for your feedback ! Indeed the main goal was to experiment on shaders, and i learned quite a lot ! I unfortunately ran into a lot of dead ends, which let me too few time to make an actual game out of it... the gameplay is rough and polish is almost totally absent. Hopefully next time I submit something more achieved.
Don't get me wrong, but this game doesn't feel like it was made in 72 hoursit feels more like it was made in 30 minutes. It's not very fun, and it doesn't fit the concept.
Thanks for reducing my work to half an hour. I guess that without the learning curve of some concepts I never used and without the struggle of experimenting with shaders, this could have been done in half a day, maybe. Could you at least be a bit constructive and explain why it does not fit the concept ? You are talking about the limitation : "only 3 colors", right ?
Dude, the game has a fire theme, but there isn’t a single thing in it related to fire. I’ll overlook that, but the limitation is three colors—that’s not even that difficult a limitation; I’ve faced worse. And just because you’re learning something new doesn’t mean I can’t criticize it. If you’re sharing it here, I’ll offer criticism whether constructive or destructive. If you’re that sensitive and don’t have confidence in yourself, don’t share your project.
The fire theme of the jam is optional. I would have liked a more fire-ish look for the enemy, but I ran out of time. And for the limitation, which is "Only 3 colors" and not "3 colors", well, the game you submitted is clearly breaking the limitation (even when taking a very large definition of color)... So what are you bragging about ?
