A very fun game! I had 2 days left to survive.
Really liked the animations, sound, UI, and gameplay.
I found myself wanting to pause the game to read what the updates do (maybe I missed how to do this) and also an indicator of when an upgrade is ready to buy.
Definitely a game I could see myself playing if developed after the jam.

To answer your question, the UPGRADES button will pulse whenever an upgrade is ready to buy, and the same indicator happens when the next SUB is ready. Great catch regarding pausing to read the upgrades, though! You can press ESC to pause right now, but you're right that it doesn't let you open the upgrade menu. We'll definitely get that fixed in the next update :)
