Ranked from 8 ratings. Score is adjusted from raw score by the median number of ratings per game in the jam.

How does the game fit the theme?
The player receives conflicting information from the police, landlord, electrician, and their own mother. Every character may be lying, so the player must compare phone calls with computer evidence and use logic before making accusations. Trusting the wrong person can cause the player to fail—or invite the intruder inside.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
The game uses third-party 3D environment, furniture, character, cable, circuit-board, and prop assets. Some character animations came from Mixamo, and sound effects/music came from royalty-free sources such as Pixabay.

Reaaally cool old-school horror vibe! 😮🔥 The detective idea fits the theme sooo well. The camera/cursor controls could use a little polish, but the concept is super fun! 👀

Like the vibe, and the game is engaging. I think First Person might make this even better, cause it lean into the atmosphere and finding stuff gameplay. Also, the mouse should probably be lock and have crosshair in center of the screen to interact. Great job!

The old-school horror aesthetic, home defense loop, and tense detective elements give this game an awesome, nostalgic atmosphere! Having a villain burst in and beat you up if you guess the wrong suspect—or fail to keep the house lit—is both hilarious and genuinely thrilling, making for a super memorable solo jam project.

A few browser input, camera control, and mechanics polish ideas for post-jam updates:

- WebGL Phone Input & Browser Support: Fix the interaction trigger for answering the phone in WebGL so Web canvas clicks register consistently across different browsers.

- Cursor Lock & UI Mode Toggle: Implement a toggled cursor lock (`Cursor.lockState = CursorLockMode.Locked` in Unity) for 1/1st-person camera rotation that automatically unlocks only when opening close-up desktop/table UI, preventing the mouse from drifting off-screen.

- House Defense Mechanics: Leaning into player suggestions—like adding a temporary stun move using the electrical device when the villain raids the house—would give the player a great last-second panic option!

Great retro horror vibe, funny lose state animations, and impressive solo scoping! If you get a free minute, I'd really appreciate your feedback and rating on my solo jam entry as well: /jam/brackeys-16/rate/4953523

I really wanted to give this one a full go but I could not get the game to let me answer the phone in browser version on internet explorer

The house environment is cool, but the controller is a little challenging!

The villain who beat you up if you lose was pretty funny! The game was a little bit difficult for me, but I still had a good time figuring out who did it! I love how the police officer was a military officer I thought that was pretty funny. Maybe things you could add to the game would be an electric attack mechanic where if you pick up the electrical device to turn on the lights, you could use it against the villain if he raids your house? Either way, I'm glad you were able to submit a game before the deadline! I know it can be tough doing it as a solo dev but I think you scoped the game pretty good! Good luck with the rest of your jam!

I had some trouble playing this one, if you are using unity you should look into locking the mouse cursor if you are using it for a camera! Otherwise when the player goes to click or look around, it will move off screen and lose focus on the game. That said, are you using the custom noun thing? It threw me off that it said "Rate Case" haha.

I didn’t lock the cursor because of the buttons on the table.Thank you for playing my game👍
