Nice, short game about a king who needs to learn to trust his servants. The idea is simple, and the gameplay is fairly straightforward, but that simplicity helped make the game polished enough for me to really enjoy it.
I didn't understand when I should press T or F.
is true and false
Haha, funny thing is, this is the exact same concept we had in mind when brainstorming ideas for the theme! Our idea was that you’d see servants walking into the throne room, and you had to watch them closely to see if they added poison to the food. If you caught them, you could make the servant eat the food themselves. It would require a bit more animation, but at least it gives you something concrete to base your trust on. If you fail, the king dies instantly. Oh, and by the way, our game still revolves around a king, but in our case, it's a Pharaoh!
Nice minigame. Lovely pixel art.

Weird critique but i wish the controls were more ergonomic; like t and f are pressed with the same finger...
I liked the art. I kinda wished it was rapid fire true and falses with a score at the end. Nice game!
Simple, but fun game. It feels satisfying to get in the rhythm of trusting people or not. Great work!
i like how simple this game is. pressing t to approve the chef and pressing f to reject the chef, depending on how nervous the chef is. i would recommend adding a score.
King’s Banquet is the GOAT because it proves you don’t need a 300 GB game with ray tracing. All you need is chefs, T/F, and three hearts. 🐐👑
YES the music is FIRE😭🔥 The soundtrack has absolutely no business going this hard for such a small game.
What I especially love about it: the music is what gives the whole thing that “King’s Banquet” vibe. The gameplay itself is super stripped down — T or F, three hearts — but the soundtrack suddenly makes everything feel way more dramatic and important than it actually is. That contrast works insanely well.
And especially for a game jam game, the soundtrack/audio is often what turns a “fun little idea” into a “wait, why is this actually fire?” 😭
The soundtrack is basically that guy in the background going:
“You are deciding the fate of the kingdom.”
Meanwhile, you: T.
💀👑
And yes: “fire” is the scientifically correct description. 🔥
i made the 2 musics from game lol, ty for reply
