Description
If I had to give the ost a genre, I guess I would say it's "pseudo-cinematic". I've always liked the more realistic side of plugin based music and I always strive to make it sound about as realistic as possible so that has influenced most of my instrument choices aside from the synth in track 2.
When making the soundtrack I imagined the game would also be realistic looking with a style such as games like Elden Ring. Track 1 was made as the title screen for the game, Track 2 was made for background music for a night time scene and track 3 was made as the boss fight theme.
I used fl studio for every track like I have for the past 3 years or so. I usually work in chronologically in my music working on each section in the same order it would appear in the song. My process for each song was very different. In track 1 I sat down at my piano and played it for a while until I found a good basic idea for the song. For the other two tracks and most music I make I wait for the melody to come to me, sing it in my head, and then write it down and then add extra instruments. Pianoteq was used like 2+ times in every track for the harps, serum provided the synths, SWAM for the strings and East-West for the choir.

Theme

How does it fit the theme?
I used intruemnts such as the ones in the artwork like a celtic harp and tried to keep the genral vibe ancient and acoustic.

SWAM instruments AND pianoteq. I love pianoteq so much. It has such great instruments. I feel like I probably use it in every single song I've made since I got it. I think the songs can feel rather empty at times. I think more involved basslines would help a lot rather than single held notes. Specifically on a walk through the meadows, but extending to the others as well. They're just lacking in complexity at times when it feels like the melody needs more complex supporting tracks.
I really liked the acoustic vibe in "a stroll through a dark day" :)
"A Stroll Through a Dark Day" has a tranquil atmosphere, the chord at 1:21 (major tonic in minor key? I don't have much ear training but sounds like it) adds some tension and mystery, maybe anticipation? "A Walk Through the Meadows" is similar in a sense that it begins with a somewhat cozy atmosphere, the trill at 0:40 marks the change well, the second half also feels like an anticipation, the latter half sounds sinister as Jojavi noted but is still melodic, hopeful perchance? "A Run Through the End of Days" is more suppressing and sinister with the strings, choirs, and percussion, the second section sounds like a victory, although with some uncertainty (1:30, the strings also start ascending at that point building tension), the third section resolves the tension
Great work—I like the vibe; that instrumental selection and the effort put into making it sound like a real recording are incredible.
Tysm! Realism is something I always strive for so hearing that it worked is amazing to hear. Most of it comes from plugin selection tbh
