Description
Several years ago, my closest friend and I had begun working on a game about a little mushroom guy going on a solo adventure to find himself as he learns about where he comes from.
In the game's sense, this song fits the theme through a mushroom guy, The Amaknight, traversing foreign lands to find the truth about where he comes from, venturing into an unknown, desolate wasteland seemingly abandoned. However, in a very real sense, this was a project forgotten by my friend and I as it sat unfinished for so many years, as it was our first attempt at game design and soundtrack composition respectively.
With this project I wanted to redo the original piece, because back then I had literally no idea what I was doing. This is what I came up with!
Theme
How does it fit the theme?
It follows the theme in that the track sounds haunting and lonely, but still the protagonist presses on because they must.

It begins with that mysterious softness, perfectly suited for introducing an unknown world. Then, the entry of the strings lends a mystical air as the epicness begins to build; a whole world is unfolding in front of the protagonist's eyes.
That intro with the music box is charming, and the way it begins to transform with the guitars—building to an epic, adventurous sound—is amazing.
//The idea of an abandoned project being directly related to the theme—you are my tribe, haha.
Really great atmosphere, makes me feel uncertain, wistful and hopeful all at the same time.
Absolute sucker for a good music box track, agree with what folks say about the end guitar section evoking Risk of Rain 2's soundtrack - would've loved to have heard more from this game and I'm glad it's no-longer forgotten.
I remember your submission from the last OST Jam. Quality of your tracks is incredible. This one is no exception. Also, love atmosphere and dynamic throughout the whole track. I wish to hear more of your works. Do you have only SC with your Jam submissions?
This piece has a very clear identity and you gave your world life in a really unique way. Very nice
Well done! I like the overall atmosphere, and that second part, with the guitar, is really epic. It made me think of Risk of Rain 2 OST for a second.
simple soundscape, but well executed!! this is composed very well, and the mixing is done nicely. wish i could've heard more, though. thanks so much for sharing!!!! :)
this is super evocative and cool. good job!
Love the composition, especially the guitar at the end!!!
