This jam is all about helping each other out by leaving comments with feedback. I've looked over the submissions and did not see any comments from you on other submissions. The voting period has just under a day left. Please take some time to play and leave feedback on at least two other submissions.

You submitted 2 games to our jam. You've been responding to comments, and you have received a  fair number of them, but have not contributed back to help out those helping you. Looking at your other submission, it looks like that one may not even have been worked on during the jam, as the update seems to have been from just before the jam started.

Of course, I'll look at other games and give feedback. I've actually tried most of them.

Idle clickers are a fun genre! Feel like the game runs smooth enough and progression feels decent and fairly rewarding. I did notice that sometimes the health bars on the shapes would jump back up to full right before being destroyed. Also would be nice to see some stats, what is my current 2x money chance already? I can assume that more expensive upgrades are better but seeing that info somewhere would help weigh options when picking upgrades. The damage noise was also a little abrasive, could use some mixing or lowering of the volume. I still think the game was engaging and made me want to keep playing. Background music was also good and fit well. Really good start, excited to see what you do with this.

Quite a fun idle clicker!

The upgrade tree feels balanced enough. A very cool skill tree that I wasn’t expecting!

My only critique would be giving some more content at the start to keep the players hooked and playing. The start is a bit slow and can definitely be spiced up a bit.

This is a fun incremental game. The geometric shapes work well to show the enemies.

I really like the upgrade tree and how many different upgrades there were. The special upgrades ("Laser", "Bosses") were cool ways to have one time powerful upgrades. Something that would be nice is a way to preview what the upgrade will do. For example I thought that the "more shapes" upgrade would give me a greater variety in the shapes that I got (what the "better shapes" upgrade did). You misspelled chance in the "crit chanse" and the "X2 money chanse".

The coins should have a larger collision shape for detecting the mouse. There were several times that I moved my mouse over one and did not collect it.

I would like a cooldown timer icon to show how long until you can attack again.

I think that you can get a crit upon a crit upon a crit and have that loop into infinity locking up the game. 3 times I got a major slowdown that seemed like a lockup for quite some time with a lot of the crit/double popup text on screen.

Here are the stats:

Overall this I like this game.

Yeah, I see the problem. I'll try to fix them all soon. Thanks for the feedback!

It would be nice if there was something, maybe a bit of text that showed up, when your time ran out but before it got back to the menu, as it was sometimes odd for the shapes to seem to disappear for no reason.

The 1 million to win did not have the currency symbol, so it was not clear if this was using the same currency.

In the UI, the XP text once you reach 4 digits runs off of it's box and into the money box. Also, when the XP number is 10 digits (or 11 if you count the slash) digits long the numbers pushes off so that it is below the rest of the UI.

The lasers feel a bit too powerful to start off. I think it would be better to have them be something that has multiple levels, where it starts less powerful and end more powerful.

I feel like the upgrades push up too close to the edge as, especially when they are on the arrows, it can be hard to see all of the text.

It feels like sometimes I can get a bunch of double score boosts when I take out an enemy which seems to stack meaning that I get a really high amount of score from a basic red square.

Overall this was fun to play. I played until I got enough to win.

I quite liked the game and the progression system, the only problem is its very slow and i feel the game never changes in anyway and without the challenge it is extremely difiuclt to feel im making any progress

Developer

Thanks for comment! Yes, at the beginning the game is extremely slow but over time it becomes more dynamic.

Super addictive, honestly! The shop just needs to be organized and aligned a bit better, and the description text for upgrades should use a different color—it's pretty hard to read right now.

Developer

Thanks for the comment. This game is still in development and I plan to improve it.

This is a nice, minimalist incremental game. I like the simple geometric shapes. I don't think it really qualifies as an idler, as I'm not sure what I could really do while idling. I got the laser, and that did some, but it was minimal and I still needed to start each round. Maybe after many upgrades, but I did spend a decent amount of time playing, and at no point did I feel like I could just let it idle to build up currency or levels.

The upgrades are pretty good, though some could use with more details. For example, how does time money work? The upgrade screen could do with better readability. As you unlock more upgrades, they display over the arrows and words along the edges. This can make the text hard to read. I don't think you need the arrows and words for what upgrades are in each direction, since you really can't do anything with it. You need to purchase the first upgrade to open the others, and those will give you an idea of what upgrades are unlocked in those directions.

It looks like a some of the upgrades have a mis-spelling. "chance" is being spelled "chanse".

I got one of the +5 second upgrades, and the +2 second one was marked as sold out.

Crit chance reached a cost of 2164$, and I was no longer able to purchase it, even though I had enough money. I tried again the next time I went to the upgrades screen, and it was the same.

In battle I am seeing the normal cursor, plus another which is moving slightly lagged from the real one. I find it a bit unpleasant. It would be nice to just have one. If you can't hide the default cursor, then being able to disable the in game custom one would be nice.

I reached level 12. My previous run I had gotten over 30,000$. It started with several big boss enemies all coming from the bottom left, and the laser hitting them, along with me moving the cursor to do so as well. This resulted in some stuttering, then major CPU usage and locking up.

I'm not sure that I would have played up to the win condition, unless things started to jump quickly. It was enjoyable enough for a while, but did start to get a bit repetitive, at least for me. I don't do a lot of idler/clicker games, so for those who like this style, it probably is fine.

Developer

Hey, thanks for your comment. I’ll answer a few questions straight away.

1. ‘Time money’ gives you money when the bar on the side lights up green (which happens about every 1.2 seconds).

2. As for the typo, thanks for pointing that out – I hadn’t noticed it xd.

3. You can’t buy any more +2 seconds once a single game lasts longer than 50 seconds, so if you’ve bought a few +5 seconds, the +2 seconds are automatically blocked (I know it’s a bit illogical ): )

4. If you couldn’t upgrade your critical hit chance any further, it means it’s already sold out, but I was a bit too lazy to write ‘sold out’ as I do in other cases. So it’s not really a bug…

5. Unfortunately, I don’t have much control over CPU usage. The game is already extremely minimalist. I can’t really change that much.

6. It takes about 30–40 minutes to complete the game, and as you mentioned, there’s a big jump  towards the end.

I hope you had fun playing!

I mentioned the CPU usage as one of the things that happened, but it wasn't the game slowly ramping up over time and using more CPU until it overwhelmed my system. I'm playing on desktop with my dev system, which is decently powerful. This was a case of something happening in the game and causing it to quickly spike  CPU usage and then lock up. It stuttered for a bit like it was trying to recover, but after several minutes of high CPU usage it was still not responding. My browser still responded, including scrolling the page the game was embedded in. The issue happened shortly after starting a new level, with a bunch of boss enemies and a laser hitting them. I also had just started to click over them. Things got laggy, then locked up.  One of our kids has played and also got a lock up. They commented on getting a lot of crits when theirs locked up. Theirs only had one boss on screen, but there was a cluster of enemies they were attacking and getting the crits on.

Developer

I see... However, I’m not sure how I could optimise it, so you can also download the game!

Developer(+1)

Sorry that i deleated your latest reply but i missclicked... Most likely the problem is dealing a critical hit to several shapes at once, which is why the game freezes due to loop. Yes, it's a bug and I'll try to fix it as soon as possible. The only solution I see for now is not to upgrade the critic chance.

Cool idea, but a bit too hard to play (make less hp for the shapes). The graphics are very polished too, good game overall!

Developer

Yes, at first the game is quite boring, and the shapes have a lot of hp, but over time (for me, after I got $1,000) it becomes extremely enjoyable. I'm currently working on part 2, so at the beggining i will make shapes definitely a lot easier to destroy!

Thanks for playing!
