Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback!
I'm really glad to hear you enjoyed the game and its visual style, even though it's still currently in development.
I'm taking note of every detail you mentioned—from the input timing adjustments to the UI bugs and the stage progression clarity—so I can include these fixes in the update I'll be releasing later this week.
Also, I'd like to invite you to join our Discord server so we can chat in more detail about these and other aspects of the game. Hope to see you there!
Playtest is now live on Steam

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback!
I completely agree with you timing can be tricky, and keeping the input on screen longer is a great point. I’m already planning to adjust the input display window so it feels more forgiving and readable during battles.
Also, I’m really glad you liked the character artwork and the keyboard controls! Thanks for playing and for taking the time to share your thoughts, it really helps make the game better. Stay tuned for updates! 🎮✨

Hello everyone, my name is Pedro Valdez from the Dominican Republic, I am a part-time indie developer trying to publish my first game on Steam.
I am following Chris Zukowski's (HTMAG) advice, for now I am trying to participate in as many events/festivals as possible.
Right now I have less than 10 wishlists, so my plan is to launch the Steam demo in January 2027 and participate in the June Next Fest.
For now I have a demo published here on itch.io and on Steam I am waiting for the approval of my first playtest.
Between Gods is a punishing action roguelite with parry based combat.
"Humanity has grown tired of the gods' cruelty, and the rebellion has begun."
Between Gods is a punishing action roguelite where your crusade is to slay every god. Master precise parries, battle relentless foes, discover powerful gear from shops and enemy drops, and grow stronger by spending skill points after each death.

The main goal is to defeat the seven Gods of Olympus. Throughout each run, you'll find random weapons and amulets, which can also be purchased. Below are the possible events that can occur during a run:
- enemy combat
- amulet (choose 1 out of 3 amulets)
- weapon (choose 1 out of 3 weapons)
- merchant (buy new weapons and amulets)
- merger (combine matching amulets to increase their power)
- blacksmith (upgrade and repair weapons)
- bonfire (rest to restore health)
- unknown (may trigger secret events)
Merchant

1 out of 4 character classes (warrior)

Fighting Hades (special stage)

How combat works?
There are two ways to attack: Basic Attacks can be used at any time, but they only deal 25% of your base damage. On the other hand, executing a successful Parry deals 100% of your base damage.
Enemies can strike from different directions—High, Mid, and Low. Depending on your character class, you will be able to parry attacks coming from specific directions; otherwise, you'll have to rely on blocking or dodging. This means certain enemies will be easier or harder to defeat depending on the class you choose.

So far, I only have 3 stages developed, 30 swords, 30 shields, 35 amulets. The core loop is complete—now it's just a matter of polishing it by adding and tweaking features.
I'll be updating this post as development progresses. Thank you for reading!
Hey everyone! I just published the demo for my game, Between Gods.
I’d love to get your feedback on a few questions:
- Is the tutorial easy to understand??
- Is the combat system enjoyable?
- Is the game too hard?
I'm also open to any general suggestions or ideas you might have! Play on browser
