I'm running linux mint atm and i just cannot get the game to run. I can download it but it refuses to actually run in anyway. If anyone has a solution please let me know.

You're not the only one to report this, and I only have one suspicion at the moment that I cannot confirm. Version 0.5.1 was using the main branch of Godot 4.4.1, and Versions 0.5.2 and onward use a custom build that fixes the microphone recording issues for hundreds of players.
My only theory at the moment is that that custom build is causing crashes for some Linux users, but I have no way to confirm that at the moment. If it's bad enough, I might have to try backporting newer versions to the main branch of Godot and exporting it there, and see whether it's magically fixed.
I have the same problem, and it seems that from version 0.5.2 and onwards it requires the library GLIBC version 2.43, and it looks like it's not a version that most stable Linux distros provide; only fairly new ones do (early 2026). For example mine has version 2.39, and it can only launch the game on version 0.5.1.
I'm not sure how this could be fixed as I'm not very knowledgeable in this area, but it seems like backporting to the main branch might fix this issue ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Hope this helps in any way !
I managed to get the latest version of the game running (although not very usable yet :/) by using Distrobox. (assuming your problem has the same cause as mine, which it probably does, just in case, check your GLIBC version by using "ldd --version" in the terminal, if its <2.43 then that's most likely what's going on)
Install Distrobox. I used:
sudo apt install distrobox podman
and then run:
distrobox create --name choicer --image ubuntu:26.04 -p
(Set the name to whatever you want)
This creates an environment with a linux version that has the required library version for the game, then enter the environment with:
distrobox enter choicer
After that navigate to the path where the game is installed. (You might want to rename the folders and executable to remove the spaces)
Then open the game as you would
e.g.
./TheChoicerVoicer_0-5-3_standard.x86_64
The issue is that audio output and input do not work (IDK WHY). I've only figured this out but there should be a fix for this, possibly related to the Distrobox version. I might try later.
this might be an issue specific to my machine btw, try it out and see if it works fine.
I'm not sure if i can be much help, but I had a similar issue where the game wouldn't open, and i found out it was because the permissions on the file were messed up. I had to run "chmod +x TheChoicerVoicer.x86_64" in terminal to fix it and after that it worked perfectly and I haven't had any issues since.
