How does your game fit the Magical Girl Genre?
Willow is an adult turned kid-again who has the power of rejuvenated youth. Also, she has a 5 foot vertical leap and can shoot electricity from her wand because she's been re-*energized*! 🥁

Which theme(s) do you pick?
Priestess of Victory

How does your game fit those theme(s)?
Willow has to participate in a magical girl competition, in exchange for her powers, and if she wins the competition, she is named Priestess of Victory.

If you follow any of the optional challenges, elaborate as you like.
We did not. They are optional, so that should be okay.

Were the assets for your game made during the jam? Elaborate as you see fit.
Yes, all the assets were made during the jam. Music was produced with FL Studio and the art was created with GIMP.

the boss is too hard. I gave up. you should add  input buffering for the jump, otherwise its pretty annoying.

Well done!

I really like the style of the graphics and music in this game, but I did find the boss quite hard compared to the platforming section. It took me a while to work out how to beat the 2nd phase, but when I realised there's a 3rd phase even the 2nd one seemed not too difficult. I basically ended up hopping from the middle platform to the one to the left to get a few quick shots in before the boss fully raised its hand to attack. Not sure if this was the intended strategy but it worked in the end XP

I honestly agree with the platforming section's difficulty being incongruent with the boss's difficulty. Originally, there were more planned screens, but when it came down to the end, there wasn't as much time as I thought 😅.

Thank you so much!

The art style is very charming and the intro had some good comedy to it, though I'm not gonna lie I'm terrible at 2d platformers and ended up getting frustrated at dying in the opening over and over again so it probably would have been better to build up to a platforming sections with temporary platforms instead of having them as the first challenge. other than that I think this was a very good entry.

Thank you! We definitely wanted to do more with the platforming, but time constraints and all that :P

Very much liked the gribble visuals, the audio and the movement. And how you had to pass between your giant's boss legs. That's a pretty solid style you got there.

Unfortunately, I couldn't beat the boss. I think is hitboxes are slightly too big, so in the second phase, when he did his move where he push you off the roof, I couldn't jump over them.

Thank you~!

As for the boss's hitbox, the intentional design of the fight was that he would push the player off the outer sides. This is to pressure the player to use the interior of the stage. Admittedly, the hand sprite might not make it clear enough that the hand is not supposed to be able to be jumped over. Perhaps, it should be larger / taller so this is clear. Either way, I appreciate your feedback.

making it larger is a good idea to make it more explicit you can't jump over.
