Description
Electronic soundtrack concept for a minimalistic narrative-driven game. Made in FL Studio.

The game would follow a linear storyline focused on the player character trying to recall something, perhaps a memory or important idea. The visuals would be stylized and abstract, similar to the cover image. Music could be part of the gameplay, for example a rhythm game or a platformer designed around the track.

Fragment: Sparse composition, piano introduces the main leitmotif, pensive

Inkling: Increasing complexity, introduces piccolo, briefly recalls Fragment leitmotif

Recognize: Most complex track, upbeat/excited, introduces music box, recalls leitmotifs from Fragment and Inkling - the 2nd leitmotif is attempted once, then completed at the end - remembering at last.

Message from the artist
I wanted to make a final track "Remember" combining the elements from the above three tracks, but ran out of time... first time doing OST comp jam!

Theme

Songs of a Forgotten World

How does it fit the theme?
It's centered around remembering something that was forgotten, using music/songs as part of the gameplay: "Songs of a Forgotten World"

Using motivic development as a way to represent the remembering seems incredibly clever to me.

Great work!
By the way, "Recognize" is so fun and lively; a banger :D

Very nice set of pieces, I particularly liked the goofy tone appearance in "Recognize", it is very funny, reminds me of some sort of carrousel within a fairy, and given the mindset of the previous tracks, this was quite unexpected. Overall a very enjoyable collection!

Good job on these tracks, was a good listen! The first two tracks flowed into each other really nicely, the third one is a bit different but it still fits in :-)

Well done!

THIS IS AMAZING...!? I was IMMEDIATELY hooked upon hearing the first track. If anyone is reading before listening, listen to it in the full ~5 minute video, it is a whole experience on its own and flows BEAUTIFULLY.

Around the ~50 second mark (near the end of "fragment"), the piano morphs into a synth?? I've tried stuff like this but it has NEVER been that clean. This is genuinely one of the coolest EPs I've listened to yet. Thank you for blessing my ears.

Inkling is an amazing track and it had me mesmerized. The last song is a great switch of pace, but my only suggestion would be to reconsider the style of drums (maybe do something a bit electronic or a mix?). The snare stood out quite a bit, and maybe adding a bit more percussion (like a shaker) might be cool. In general, I suppose just some more layering in that song.

Last thing might be to improve the mix. There are a lot of cool melodical elements that can definitely morph together a lot better. But all in all, an INCREDIBLE work of art. Perfectly weird and bendy!

this is such a cool vibe! the first two tracks feel like they'd be in some rpgmaker puzzle game (i might just be thinking of oneshot). the synths used remind me of celeste.

i will say that the third track sounded a little weird once you started bringing in melodic material other than the main motif -- maybe try focusing on making the climax more slow and grand and less boss-fight ish? it kinda feels like a departure from what the first two songs were doing.

that's just me tho. i'm not really an expert at composition so feel free to disregard what i just said. i really like your submission overall, good job!
